My fellow guardians, I know we all love cool gear, and want that awesome legendary or exotic. We all love the new swords, even if we don't love trying to get crucible kills with them. What if there were a limited time event, like Iron Banner, that had a reward of a legendary elemental sword? It would adopt whatever element your subclass was running (just like the warlock fusion rifle). The game mechanics are already in place for this. Have a competition that is sidearms and swords only, crucible or quest based. It disables your primary (weird I know, but you love a challenge) The only kills that count are sword and sidearm, super kills do not count towards your target. The final reward if you reach the target, is a legendary elemental sword, and an elemental sidearm. If we could upgrade those to exotic status, that would be cool.
