Just thought I'd see how many misinformed people there are in the forums. Probably a lot.
Just wanted to add this in before more people say it's not a job in the comments below. Saves me from replying:
They do have a paycheck. As well as a business partnership with the company and site that they stream through. They also make ad revenue through the ads they run (completely unrelated to the charity of viewers). People subscribe if they feel a streamer is worth their support. All of this = job.

Any type of athlete, actor, streamer, or anyone else that's provides entertainment are all the same. They have to be some of the best at what they do to make it as an entertainer. Have to work hard and get themselves out there to make any kind of money. Do I consider the casual streamer with 8 viewers someone with a job? No. But if you've worked hard and put in the time and gained some popularity I consider them no different than an actor who's finally hit it big. If you're partnered with twitch and bringing in hundred and thousands of viewers to the company what other would you call it than a job?

5 답변Just cuz you make money doesn't make it a job. You could be a millionaire from twitch streaming but it isn't a job.

8 답변It's about as legit of a "job" as being a youtube or vine personality. It's not a job. It's a profitable hobby.
Confirmed OP is trying to convince parents streaming is a job and is looking for arguments to support his claim.

Get a job.
9 답변작성자: ihatemyhonda 10/5/2015 6:28:58 AMThe moment you start trying to make a profit out of something you love to do that's when it starts to become a job. Broman and Laced up Lauren for example lets it be known that destiny streaming is their only source of income. That's one of the reason why they stream all day everyday, especially broman. IMO if it ever came to that for me I'd hate playing video games.. But hey if that's what they want to do then I won't knock their hustle, there are plenty of ways to make money and playing video games just so happens to be one of them.

12 답변If you put time into something and have a paycheck at the end it's a job, however, when the streaming fashion dies out in a few years/decade can you put "twitch streamer"on your resume? That's the main issue with this.

2 답변Destiny streamers need a real job, but people who stream other games have a decently fun, pretty cool job on their hands!

6 답변So tell me, what do Gothalian, Professor Broman, and all the other Destiny exclusive streamers intend to do if Destiny flops before the end of its 10 year plan? I'm not saying it's not a job but it's definitely not a career and there is a huge difference between the two.

2 답변Biased topic description is biased. I can have whatever opinion I want, mine just happens to be different than yours, it doesn't make me close minded. Playing games all day is not a job. What do they do else than play games? A little editing? And don't tell me it's a job because they get money for it, people make money off of hobbies all the time. Theirs just happens to be trendy.
