WE MADE A COMPROMISE! I GOT MY XBOX BACK :D
Taken King came out as the holidays began for me, and I was really excited for the 2 weeks of solid playing. I'm 16 years old (grade 10) and can only play 3 hours a day. I played Destiny for 3 hours per day in intervals for most days, but apparently my parents are not happy with this. They say it's "controlling me" when I still help around the house and take regular breaks. (Remember, this is the holidays, meaning no school) They say it's so bad, that they are locking my xbox away. I play 3 hours a day, spread out DURING THE HOLIDAYS and they take away my xbox. This has nothing to do with school, as I am a straight A student.
What are your thoughts in this? Is it unjust? Or do I deserve this.
Edit 1: Thanks so much for the support guys, you really seem to understand. This proves that the destiny community aren't always dicks. Looks like I'll just have to wait a few years. Good thing destiny has a 10 year plan :)
Edit 2: 153 replies! Overwhelming support! I can't believe this, you guys are awesome. I've heard a few interesting ways to help myself with this, including but not limited to:
-Threatening to summon a demon
-Lick a pole and get "No F's given syndrome"
-Annoy the -blam!- out of parents
-Kill parents
Edit 3: I WAKE UP TO 554 REPLIES!
I don't understand this xD Thanks so much
Edit 4: 1024 replies! I don't even know what to say. This is my most replied to thread xD
Out of everything it could have been! Thanks to SmoggyPluto for sharing his view, he's an awesome guy, and thanks to everyone else :)

I understand they're the adults and what they say goes, but that's bull hockey. Its the holidays. It probably won't help but just to fight back a little, give them crap every time they are plugged into a piece of technology. See how they like it. Doesn't matter what form either.

1 답변Maybe your parents want you to succeed at life. School, work and socialization outside of the internet will help you survive. Three hours is alot of time to play video games in a given day for many that cannot afford to sit around and have many other responsibilities. Get a job, save your cash and move out in two years and do what you want.

2 답변I didn't even have an Xbox until I joined the army at 18. My mother was a single mother and couldn't afford it. Be grateful for what you have. At the end of the day it's just a game. 3 hrs is good enough. You should be learning how to pick up girls! Hang out with friends ! But I will be honest I play anytime I get when I'm not occupied with the Army but I can do that. I pay for my shit and I go by my rules. Hope this changes your perspective. God bless and get educated my friend

2 답변Woah kid. I am a college educated adult and love destiny. I have a family, wife and two children. 3 hrs a day would be awesome but please relax. Your parents do not understand your generation. I understand the appeal of games. My spare time is dedicated to gaming but I started gaming with Atari. Your parents love you as a father of two and as a gamer I can see the generational change ( my wife on the other hand does not). Your parents care and love but it seems are stuck in the now and do not see the advantages that gaming will give you in the future. That is it in a nutshell parents can only see the things that made them successful and not the potential of your interest. My parents learned after the fact that video games, D & D and comic books lead to two very successful children. My advice is to understand that they don't understand and play by their rules until you do not have to. When you become successful and have the time there will be a new game that captures your interest and no one will be able to tell you otherwise. I guess what I'm trying to is GO TO COLLEGE IT GETS BETTER BUT YOU HAVE TO GET EDUCATED. That is all. By the way, yes I am drunk but that does not take away what I was saying. What the -blam!- am I saying. Why at the 49ers losing? Oh yeah because they have no GOD DAMN OFFENSIVE LINE 6 -blam!-ING SACKS AN ONE -blam!-ING GAM THE LINE SHOULD FIRED AND -blam!-ING GRADE SCHOOL CHILDREN SHOULD HE HIRED WHY BECAUSE NO SELF RESPECTING ADULT WOULD RUN OVER A CHILD JESUS CHRIST I STOPPED PLAYING DESTINY TO WATCH THE 49ers ONE AGAIN GET THERE ASSES HANDED TO THEM FOR THE 3rd -blam!-ING STRAIGHT WEEK. GO TO COLLEGE

My mom lets me play for a while (about 2 hours a school day and about 3 on the weekend each day) but acts like she doesn't care if she messes up on something she blames it on me or my dad (I'm 10 btw) forces me to go shopping because I for some reason I have to get out of the house:/.
