Hey, you’re reading this post. Awesome! That means you are likely to be a veteran to these boards and already know what’s coming. If you’re not, well, get prepared for a crying fest of seldom seen proportions.
The main thing about Iron Banner is that now gear and weapons will be purchased with legendary marks rather than glimmer. We all already know that legendary marks don’t really work as a currency as although Bungie likes to claim there is no weekly cap, in actuality, there is. You can only do so many daily and weekly activities that reward you marks. Let’s say the Iron Banner gear costs as much as the gear from normal vendors (i.e. 150 marks for a weapon all the way down to 75 for a pair of gloves or some boots), which seems reasonable. That means it will be literally impossible to be able to get all gear for all characters during one tournament unless a new way to get marks – and a lot of them – is introduced. Yes, Bungie have said that the gear should come as rewards from actual gameplay, but we’ve all seen them numerous times claim that they’ve “fixed” PvP rewards only to go into a Crucible game a couple of minutes later and watch, as you finish on top, the 1-32, 1-33 and 0-506 guys on the bottom each get a Gjallarhorn, Thunderlord, Ferrari and summer home in the Hamptons.
There is also the light level debate that’s worth mentioning. 300 is the recommended level. In other words, random people not in a clan, get raiding. Now! Or you’ll be screwed! I have no idea why I’m using exclamation marks! Moving on!
As for Trials of Osiris, if you thought the whine was real during ToO 1.0, you ain’t seen nothing yet. So matchmaking will be based on wins. That’s great for competitive players. For those who struggled getting to the Lighthouse in the first place, well, shit just got real. Let’s say they somehow lucked it past a 6-0 team and a 7-0 team and ended up 8-1. Next game? Against an eight win team. Loss? Another eight win team. Loss again? ANOTHER eight win team. Going Flawless is about to become a lot harder and we will all be subject to so much salt it’s going to be a smart move to have a nurse standing by 24-7.
That’s basically the weekly update summed up. What a great time to be browsing these boards, amirite?
Edit: Light level now changed to 230 for IB.

Everyone complaining about IB gear costing legendary marks obviously stopped reading there. Bungie has put all purchasable gear into the loot pool at the end of every crucible round and has also increased the chance of them dropping, having to purchase them directly is a last resort.

They also said the "new" loot system would take into account weapons you already had and award accordingly, that isn't working. And drop rates in general for Boss specific, crucible specific, and Raid specific loot has been abysmal. Take what "they" with a grain of salt.

2 답변Does nobody read the updates? They said drops are now the main way you will get your weapons. Legendary marks are just a back up. Drop rates were increased in ib. READ PEOPLE YOU WILL GET FAR IN LIFE.

i suck at PvP and only went flawless in Trials once with no intentions on attempting it again but i can't wait to see all the Trials crybabies!!!! "I QUIT DESTINY! I NEVER GET PAST 8 WINS NOW! I DESERVE TO HAVE THE LIGHTHOUSE HANDED TO ME! BLAH BLAH BLAH CRY CRY CRY" and then all the "Sign here if you can't get past 8 wins" threads we're gonna see... oh man this is gonna be great!!! :D

작성자: Machiaveli 10/3/2015 4:33:37 AMThey also said that they'd upped the IB post-game drop rates, and it now includes everything that Saladin has for sale, both guns and gear. Buying from Saladin should be a last resort if you are unusually unlucky with drops. So your worries about marks are not needed.

1 답변only the winning team gets rewards? and those rewards get better with each win? so what this tells me is to expect the worst lagfest yet and get ready to be dropped into nothing but losing matches. I know they have all been like that but this sounds like another game mode that rewards players that cheat. I gave up on ToO because the obvious bs going on in there.

Great post:)...totally agree about the legendary marks too....and also kinda annoyed I have to raid to get good gear so I can play PvP...I've done the raid once, that's enough, don't want to grind it just to get gear for PvP...give me PvP options to get competitive gear please...I'm not really into pve and if I have to grind the raid I'll just end up hating it

Also, you're right that this is going to be a new thing for those who just picked it up and.. oh, boy, are a lot of them going to get to whining. Me? I'm gonna grab my War Pants, get my team back together again and go eat some souls. ..or die hilariously trying.

Iron banner will be more rewarding with the whole better legendary drop rate stuff and people won't butch about needing to get drops because it's the stuff from last ib rather than this one. Personally I'm going for emblems and class items. Trials can suck a dick anyway because that's too mlg anyway

Trials is supposed to be competitive so that's perfectly fair to have even teams matched up. Too bad it didn't go by average skill level instead of wins to actually bring in good matches and overall fairness in a matchup. Now iron banana I'm actually super stoked for. I may not have a raid team to raid with yet, but I'll be fine at a 290-295 light level wrecking scrubs until I run into some using Sunbreaker. They might've fixed the spam glitch but they're difficult enough to put down that they'll be able to easily flip a round any time they activate that super. Guess I'll just have to hang back every time I hear the hammer and kill them after they wipe the rest of my team.

8 답변You really didn't read the update at all did you? For iron banner they have increased legendary drop rates post match, and the drops will be the same things he's selling that week. They clearly stated that drops is now the main method of acquiring iron banner gear. However if by the end of the week, what you wanted didn't drop, then the option to purchase is there. Comprehension is quite important.

I swear people can't read. Potential match completion rewards now include both weapons and armor, matching the same items available from Lord Saladin during each event. Drop rates have been increased and are intended to be the primary source of rewards from Iron Banner. If you don't get what you're hoping for, you have the option to visit Lord Saladin instead.
