Here's the skinny. Hadn't played Cayde's Cache in story mode. Yesterday, a fireteam pulled me into the dreadnaught, the enemy of my enemy, and then lost to light. After we beat all three, I went back to beat cayde's cache. Now i have quests that say i need to beat dreadnaught, even though it, enemy, and lost to light show up on my map as complete.
