Hey there, how's it going? First off, as someone who considers himself as a vet of Destiny but not an elite player, I have to say, I stand in amazement at some of the things you guys can do. Really I do. Single handedly taking down Trials while carrying 2 other people? Wow. Soloing Crota back when it was cool? Amazing. Going Chuck Norris on the game and beating it with just your fists? Unthinkable. You really do incredible things and when I'm a witness in it...it's hard sometimes to stay in the game because I want to just watch how you own Destiny like Neo owns The Matrix :)
In all sincerity, it is amazing the things you do and as a veteran Destiny player who handles himself fine but isn't elite, It's a joy to watch. The thing is though, I am trying to get better too. Having a full time job and family and whatnot means I have to balance priorities out quite a bit. It's bad enough I've had one too many sleep deprived nights so I can fit everything in, but as a result I am a few steps behind you. I accept it. Thing is though, I want to be as good as you someday. I don't want to be carried...I want to learn...get better...so I can help others and maybe even someday help you.
The problem is though, sometimes being elite means you lose patience with the rest of the destiny world because we're not destroying the game like you. I can imagine that can be frustrating because it slows you down. Knowing you can travel 80mphs in a game where many of the players are going 50-60 can be a strain. The thing is though, there's an awesome opportunity you have here where you can make the community better: you can teach us. you can be patient with us. You can help us see things the way you do. Doing this accomplishes several objectives. 1) you make us better so you can get things done quicker when you do need help. 2) We get better and can take on new challenges we never thought we could. 3) Most importantly the community gets friendlier because we're paying it forward...helping each other.
When we don't do that.....when we say "I'm carrying the team". "You guys suck". "Get good". If you think about it...it accomplishes nothing. All it does is separate us where players call you names/expletives and you call us names as a result. The only result is a divisive community. The social experience is the heart of the Destiny universe and attitude is everything. We don't need to create lines breaking off those connections, do we?
So...if you want us to 'get good'....show us. Teach us....be patient with us and, most importantly. ENCOURAGE us. That's paying it forward and that is the key to finding more like yourselves. You never know....by following that method someday we may be able to HELP you. To teach you a trick that we caught on. It's a win win. YES, it does mean we have to listen too. Not rage. Not give up. Practice. We have to do our end of the bargain. I guarantee you though there are many of us that DONT want carried. We want to accomplish. Achieve.
For the record, I know many elite players who DO everything they can to help and to you I tip my hat! Thanks for helping me see things the way you do. If you don't though....all I'm doing is encouraging you to reconsider your strategy. You still are amazing and this isn't an open letter to make you feel bad...but instead to see perspective. Nothing more. I will always have your back if you ever try to find some way possible to solo Kings Raid (sorry, I can't see how though lol but I will watch). I will celebrate with you. Be in awe....and give you the props you rightly deserve.
A little kindness goes a long way and helps everyone. Just something to consider.

1 답변If you're on Xbox one, add me. I've done all the things you stated in that first paragraph. I'm good, maybe "elite" by someone's standards, but we all still have much to learn. I enjoy taking people through the raids and night falls and such. Most of the time I don't lose my patients because I still -blam!- up once in awhile too

1 답변See but paying it forward doesn't work. I taught plenty of people CE and VOG. Those same people have far surpassed me not in ttk and when I ask for help or for them to run the raid with me I get told I'm too low. So no, I will never again help people that weren't already on my freinds list. The answer is just no. Because it seems like when you help someone get better, when you are lacking in an area, you become not worth their time

1 답변I have two hours between when I get home from school and have to go to work. Usually I ask for people 295+ who have experience because I literally don't have time to run it with people who don't know it unless I have the day off. But I do have around ten completions where I haven't even gotten rewards because I decide to help people out and run it with at least two people who have never done it. You're only seeing one side of the story

2 답변작성자: Seraph 10/2/2015 3:34:34 PMNot sure if I would call myself an elite, but I've usually done all the "difficult" jobs in the raids. From being at the bottom with relic against the templar while everyone stayed up and shot, to soloing one of the portals and then always picking up relic (when the 3 ppl weren't random). Running sword almost everytime, soloing the whole crota raid, even helping people go flawless in trials. After things got old, I would post in lfg that I was helping people finish certain things (w/e I was in the mood for). Usually though, the people that invited me didn't really need help, they had the mechanics down and could do their job, they just had trouble with that one specific job, whether it was relic or sword, teams just couldn't do it. What I have learned is that in destiny, people don't usually fail because they aren't good enough, they usually fail because they get anxious, nervous, and psyche themselves out. A better player can't control and teach them that, I always try to keep people calm in my raid team but I can't control their emotions when playing and having to do something important. This hinders their accuracy, speed, decision making, and communication skills, all which have to be honed not taught. That is what makes us different. I don't mind helping people and anyone can add me, if I have time I'll gladly help. Just saying that learning what to do can be done using youtube or forums like reddit, being able to do it depends on the person and their abilities, other gamers can't teach that. TL:DR Learning mechanics can be done by watching videos or reading, practicing those mechanics should take a few minutes after they are really learned. Staying focused and controlled depends on the player, can't be taught, has to be developed.

1 답변As an alpha to current ttk player I take the crucible pretty seriously, but im really just in it to have fun and a good time. I may win or lose playing solo, normally lose :p, but I enjoy every minute sniping a shot gunner who thinks they have an easy kill, dropping a titan rushing me with a hammer or making the self resurrecting warlock feel bad about wasting their resurrection. PVE is the same, i'm in it for the fun of it! I don't require you to have experience to run with me, nor do i expect it, you have to learn somewhere, right? (it is preferred you at least meet the minimum light requirements) Being a Sherpa is also rewarding in its own way, i've helped many through trials whether they were amazing or terrible (mostly random people stopping by my empty twitch channel - no strings attached), with some help of course from my clan mates who are equally as awesome! Its a great feeling when you get to know someone who struggles in certain aspects of the game and you can help them learn and achieve a higher skillset and see them destroy an aspect of the game on their own with ease because you helped them improve. I am guilty of saying all three
"I'm carrying the team". "You guys suck". "Get good".
, but then i still play another match with the same people, it's a spur of the moment rage because i do want to win after putting in an effort and i see all these people playing poorly. I would never message people telling them they do suck though, i have told them to fix their internet once or twice, but im usually on the bad end of a message, and then the fool rages so hard that I simply submit a grief report for their comments as they always provide enough to screw themselves over and for sony to extensively look at the chat log and ban their account, sorry i did well and you can't handle it, but i'm not sorry you are an awful human being and take destiny to the extreme. - latest one was 2 days ago D: I'm glad a post like this came up, we are out there! there are actually people on this forum who would rather play the game then complain about minor things and even help people see past these minor things as an added challenge mode and then help them further improve in the game by conquering these added challenges. I like to just go with the flow when change does happen (and it will, again and again). Don't expect a carry, you gotta work and be patient for what you are trying to achieve in destiny, but If anyone who reads this is on ps4, you and anyone else are always more than welcome to add me to play some destiny whether it is pve or pvp, win or lose, just to have a good time and maybe pick up some new things! Thanks for making this post, I enjoyed reading what you had to say and it's nice to read something truly serious over the hilariously awful satire posts that you have to constantly scroll through.

I've helped 7 groups of people get the black spindle now. All but one guy got the Spindle. He wouldn't listen to me. His job was to DPS the boss and use his bow on the boss. But almost every time he would waste it on the ads instead of binding the boss so we could sword him to death. The trick is that people have to listen when someone has experience and tells you your role. Just please don't go all lone wolf because then you ruin everything. The most OP set up is all three guardians with swords. One Nightstalker (or two) and a Sunbreaker with melting point. Bind the boss, Titan pouches the boss, and all 3 sword the boss. This setup is more OP then 3 people with Gjallarhorn.

I don't consider myself an elite player. I can't always carry 2 people in trials, I don't know everything about every activity but I'd say I'm above average and I enjoy helping and teaching those who need it. The community can sometime be unwilling to help and teach but there are also people out there who will do anything they can to help. Let's look at LFG. The majority of people just want players way about the recommended light so they can fly through activities. However I've seen post where people only take "raid virgins" my fireteam and I would do that when we were short 1 or 2 people when we ran VoG or CE. I've only started helping with kings fall now that I understand the mechanics and feel like I can make good suggestions to help them out. If you ever need help with something or anybody that reads this wants to try something they have had no success with or have yet to try feel free to look me up on twitch. I'd be more than happy to help or explain whatever I can. Twitch.tv/jcfmax_x *shameless advertisement*

4 답변작성자: Yoursix 10/2/2015 4:13:33 PMI don't mind carrying up to two people through raids but any more than that and it's hard as hell. If you newer players buffer your light level say for this new raid for instance.. If you're over 295 I will def take you in and show you the ropes. Any lower and you would have to be a clan mate or friend. Trials.. Will def be a lot harder to carry people. I most likely won't do it with the new math making added to it. Tip for every one struggling to find groups... Take that extra week to two weeks of casual game play to be higher light level and decent weapons. Farm the hell out of heroic strikes. 30 something percent of fire teams completed oryx. That leaves millions of players like you to bring into fire teams. It gets exhausting running first timers through raids.

4 답변Get over it and yourself No one has to care how you think they should play the game or how YOU want to play the game ever. No one has to be nice or kind or friendly in any game ever if they dont want to.. the paying it foward bs needs to stop... that phrase is just a joke and used by those who want others to do it for them instead of learning and doing in on their own. Stop living in a delusional world where you think everyone can or will be nice and friendly all the time or ever will or even should be.

1 답변DC universe has none of this trash elite bs. If you have the gear to get in the door you raid. End of story. If you get kicked for not doing your job then thats on you. Even then it rarely happens because the elites are dope there and can do the work ov two pepole. I met a dude so dope he did the equivalent of putting on 260 armor in a 290 raid and was still tanking AND dpsing. No lfg we are randoms, we get it done and have fun while we do it. Destinys raid system (or lack there of) breeds contempt within its community.

8 답변작성자: Sax Appeal 10/2/2015 4:54:09 PMFirst off, I love teaching players how to do Raids, its a nice feeling when the group you taught beats the raid. However, I don't always have time to teach due to real life stuff. So, sometimes I am forced to make posts like "Must have Kingsbane emblem" because I really just need a smooth run. It's a nice change of pace from the 6-7 hour raid attempts. The new raid, unlike the previous ones, actually requires everyone to carry their own weight. There is no room for carrying unlike VoG or Crota where you could have one or two players not up to the appropriate light level. A lot of people I see complaining about the elite LFG posts are only light level 280-290. This is not high enough to complete the raid. A lot of people blame the elitists for being selfish when in reality the people that are not prepared are the selfish ones. I don't think people realize that YOU CAN REACH LIGHT LEVEL 295 WITHOUT STEPPING FOOT IN THE RAID. This is the recommended light level for the entire raid (recommended by me and my entire raid group). Yes you can do the beginning part of the raid (Up to golgoroth) as light level 290 but after that you are only weighing your team down. Rant over Edit: Also you need a really good sniper in the raid. If you don't have one order the omolon sniper from the gunsmith this week.

5 답변I mean, you could just stop trying to play with Elite players. That is a thing, you know? If you know they're gonna be backpacking you or you're gonna be holding them back, stop trying to play with them. Go play with people around your level. All this hate against Elite players is your own fault. You keep trying to join their company while lacking the necessary thumb skill to play on par with them. Really, if you don't want someone getting mad at you for being bad, go play with someone bad so they'll be glad that you're good, get it? Also, follow me on Twitch at twitch.tv/aspect4392 and join my PSN Community and I'd be more than glad to help out with raids and such here and there. Haha. P.S. I feel no shame about that last part ;)
