Hey there, how's it going? First off, as someone who considers himself as a vet of Destiny but not an elite player, I have to say, I stand in amazement at some of the things you guys can do. Really I do. Single handedly taking down Trials while carrying 2 other people? Wow. Soloing Crota back when it was cool? Amazing. Going Chuck Norris on the game and beating it with just your fists? Unthinkable. You really do incredible things and when I'm a witness in it...it's hard sometimes to stay in the game because I want to just watch how you own Destiny like Neo owns The Matrix :)
In all sincerity, it is amazing the things you do and as a veteran Destiny player who handles himself fine but isn't elite, It's a joy to watch. The thing is though, I am trying to get better too. Having a full time job and family and whatnot means I have to balance priorities out quite a bit. It's bad enough I've had one too many sleep deprived nights so I can fit everything in, but as a result I am a few steps behind you. I accept it. Thing is though, I want to be as good as you someday. I don't want to be carried...I want to learn...get better...so I can help others and maybe even someday help you.
The problem is though, sometimes being elite means you lose patience with the rest of the destiny world because we're not destroying the game like you. I can imagine that can be frustrating because it slows you down. Knowing you can travel 80mphs in a game where many of the players are going 50-60 can be a strain. The thing is though, there's an awesome opportunity you have here where you can make the community better: you can teach us. you can be patient with us. You can help us see things the way you do. Doing this accomplishes several objectives. 1) you make us better so you can get things done quicker when you do need help. 2) We get better and can take on new challenges we never thought we could. 3) Most importantly the community gets friendlier because we're paying it forward...helping each other.
When we don't do that.....when we say "I'm carrying the team". "You guys suck". "Get good". If you think about it...it accomplishes nothing. All it does is separate us where players call you names/expletives and you call us names as a result. The only result is a divisive community. The social experience is the heart of the Destiny universe and attitude is everything. We don't need to create lines breaking off those connections, do we?
So...if you want us to 'get good'....show us. Teach us....be patient with us and, most importantly. ENCOURAGE us. That's paying it forward and that is the key to finding more like yourselves. You never know....by following that method someday we may be able to HELP you. To teach you a trick that we caught on. It's a win win. YES, it does mean we have to listen too. Not rage. Not give up. Practice. We have to do our end of the bargain. I guarantee you though there are many of us that DONT want carried. We want to accomplish. Achieve.
For the record, I know many elite players who DO everything they can to help and to you I tip my hat! Thanks for helping me see things the way you do. If you don't though....all I'm doing is encouraging you to reconsider your strategy. You still are amazing and this isn't an open letter to make you feel bad...but instead to see perspective. Nothing more. I will always have your back if you ever try to find some way possible to solo Kings Raid (sorry, I can't see how though lol but I will watch). I will celebrate with you. Be in awe....and give you the props you rightly deserve.
A little kindness goes a long way and helps everyone. Just something to consider.

PS-if you want the backstory. just ask and I'll gladly tell it. The message here is what's most important.
EDIT: just a very gracious thank you to all who responded. This community can be amazing. Even if you didn't agree I appreciate and respect your counterpoints :). Hope to see you out there

To start off with you need to lower your sensitivity by 2 from what you usually play on. Every day play the daily crucible (you get marks plus a random game style for practice) then play 3 games of rumble and 3 games of skirmish. This will take you about an hour a day. Unfortunately if you can't spare this little amount of time then your goal is pointless. There is no magical button that will make you a pvp God for free. In these game modes do not use a shotgun, period. Shotgun takes no skill and therefore you will not gain skill by using them. Try to use your primary more, learn to pull players in to 1v1 situations. If you are weak. Back off and recover. try not to panic, concentrate on learning how to live before learning how to kill. Learn the radar and learn the maps, slow your game down, find where people will camp and head glitch. Be cautious of these areas and check. Don't just rush through. Once you can keep calm in the crucible adjust your sensitivity to where it suits your thumb skill. Do this for a month and I can garauntee your games will improve dramatically. Once you have public matches down get in touch with the sweaty community. Depending on your console I can give you people to approach on this subject. For pve this is a lot simpler. ADD CONTROL. Focus more on adds, plain and simple nearly every encounter has health based waves of adds, therefore kill adds then shoot boss. Try soloing night falls. Again learn to live before learning to kill. Learn to use cover and use your ammo effectively. Save rockets for groups of majors, sniper for bosses and primary for adds and whatever else is left. Don't waste supers on a boss. A clip of primary will do around the same as one super, but that super will save you from a group of powerful enemies that your primary won't be able to shut down. That's about the end of all things when it comes to pve

I'm decent at pve barely in the pos on k/d ratio however in pve keep in mind that the enemy doesn't shoot directly at yoy the game programming has it set up to where they shoot to wear your goin to be at a set moment in the direction your moving so when in a fire fight use cover and don't move in a straight line you'll be torn apart in seconds learn to strafe and to weave alot and learn to hit precision hits while doing this will keep your life much easier also if you have the opportunity to use a sniper rifle and pick off targets at a range before they actually start shooting at you then you do it every enemy you kill from a distance is one less potential threat and in boss fights definitely focus on the adds 95% of defeats are from being overwhelmed by adds so focus on clearing them out before hitting the boss when fighting adds stay close together in case of a guardian going down so he can be healed quickly but when all gone give eachother some space to lessen the chance of the boss taking you all out at once. And I usually always carry plenty of heavy ammo syns to get me out of a tight jam. Also if your under heavy fire and are losing a firefight to all the adds or boss and have to do a strategic retreat to rethink your attack plan then DO NOT stay in the air run along the ground and use a quick jet pack boost for a millisecond while strafing to keep from being an easy target if you stay in the air your to open best to stay near the ground

If you or anyone here is PS3 hit me up with a message and I can show y'all a few things that might just improve your game and give you the edge you need to bump you too an elite player (ps my light level right now doesn't represent my skill level it's my pvp gear)

2 답변작성자: Mar 10/3/2015 12:44:25 AMi appreciate you at least trying to tell some of the more arrogant and self centered morons (i don't care if they solo VoG with just their melee attacks, that still doesn't entitle them to be that big of elitist moronic pieces of crap) in this community. but in all honesty, none of them are going to listen... i've tried, the people you are talking about (and the ones i referenced before) are so stuck up their own back sides and have somehow got it in their heads that they are so far above everyone else that they will just say "lul git gud n00b" that is if they even read it at all. like i said, its good you tried but if didn't stop back when it started in year 1 (anyone remember VoG hard mode when it launched?) it sure won't stop now, some (if not most) of them are just trying to look better than everyone else just for the sake of being a special snow flake that can (by their own arbitrary means) separate the community out of pure spite and / or because they have some massive inferiority complex

1 답변Sherpas always have the best fireteam in their back pocket. Sherpas always have a friend list full of people willing to drop whatever they are doing to help them out. Sherpas always have friends. The master of anything was once a beginner but, what is the next step after becoming a master? The answer to this question of evolution is that the master must become the teacher, only those that teach can evolve past the current limit of the known and evolve the craft. To become greater than your master is the meaning of life.
