So like, I'm just being a titan. Just strolling along my merry way in some crucible. And I come across a Warlock in the wild. Well, I don't wanna die so I jump over him because I see his shotty.
And then it happened...
He bunny hopped into his super to try and Landfall me due to his shiny new exotic gloves. And you know what? It killed me despite me being sky high above him.
So, mind explaining this to me? How is it that Landfall kills people above the Warlock? I'm a bit confused as to how this works since it's name and description offer zero indication that it should affect anyone above the Warlock.
Edit: Omg I didn't think I'd have to spell it out for you guys but I suppose I should have seen this coming. You all (or at least a vast majority of you all) have missed the entire point of this post. I am NOT upset about dying to Landfall. I am NOT upset about Warlocks or Stormtrance or anything of the sort. I am simply confused as to why a perk titled "Landfall" that is described as "On casting Stormtrance, fire a bolt of lightning into the ground, creating a devastating shockwave under you" is able to kill things above as well. It's even in the name, Landfall. It's not like the perk was titled something to give any sort of hint of affecting the area above you such as "Skyrise" (crappy name I know, deal with it).
Edit 2: To those trying to argue with the shallow response of "Tell me why FoH kills me when I'm 30 meters above it then" the answer is in its description. "Smash the ground and dissolve nearby enemies in a maelstrom of Arc Light". For those who don't know what a maelstrom is it is a powerful whirlpool with a strong downdraft that pulls nearby things into it. Going off of that it's not that you are dying to its aoe or even a shockwave above, it's that FoH is literally sucking you into its center and killing you that way. Of course, that would probably be a bitch for them to have added in the needed effects for that so they just shorthanded it and opted for killing anything in range immediately.
Edit 2a: Not to mention, if you could survive FoH by jumping it would only be further solidified as the worst super in the game. And it already is so let's not try to make it any worse.
Edit 3: In case you somehow missed the point of this post (despite Edit 1) I'm going to reiterate. I am not upset about the Warlock, nor Stormtrance, nor Landfall. I have only died that one time to Landfall and 1 whole death is not going to warrant a complaint post. This is a simple question that requires a simple answer. One that I have found now thanks to users shobr0 and one other unnamed person (sorry, your post seems to have drowned in the sea of trolls) who have explained that in the lore it states that Warlocks are unable to channel the lightning themselves but rather, that they can call upon it at anytime and get charged by mother nature to then use as needed. So, that explains it, my question is answered and this post can go ahead and die now. Still, kinda dumb that something that should (probably) be for cool points actually kills but whatever, that's Bungie for you. Always out to show how much more loved Warlocks are than the other classes.

3 답변I stopped reading once I read that you died sky high above the Warlock. The fist of panic does the same bullshit. No matter how high I already was. Stop the moaning.

3 답변As a Titan could you explain how a Titan with Fist Of Havoc using Shockwave and kill me midair? keep in mind the description for Shockwave states "Fist of Havoc unleashes a wave of devastating energy which travels along the ground" but yet I have been killed by it a huge number of times midair. If you explain that to me I will explain how the Warlock Landfall works...

1 답변Landfall doesnt kill surrounding enemies unless the warlock is in the air Lightning comes from top, hits warlock, then transfers to ground

1 답변Please don't start another class war. The Hunter vs Titan one is annoying enough. We don't need a Titan vs Warlock war too. Their super is fine, leave it alone.

For coding and development it was most likely easier to simply give the landfall abilities the same power as a FoH that way they didn't need to reprogram an entire new attack The downside to this is they did not downscale it so in essence warlocks have FoH on super activation while also getting a nice roaming super ability

2 답변Bruh same scenario but switch roles and instead of landfall, titans kill me with fist of havoc

1 답변You have 2 titans. You cannot get high enough to live fist of panic. The landfall perk summons lightning from the sky it should kill you.

작성자: Knighthell45 10/2/2015 4:02:45 PMIts just lightning that shoots down from the players feet. The hitbox on it is crazy and if a player is anywhere near it they're dead. I've only seen one person survived my landfall attack and I think it was a warlock with the Ram helmet.

2 답변How come Fist of Havoc kills people sky high above it when you use it? After all, you're slamming the ground. Landfall does it for the same reason the FoH does it. Get over it... oh wait, you can't, because it'll kill you.

4 답변Didn't bother to read all of that (sorry, been reading all day) but that has happened to me on a Titans FoH, when I was a mile over his head. It's also happened on a void warlock that jumped over me and shot it at my teammates ahead of me...somehow I died when clearly the missiles hadn't reached their target yet.

1 답변The reason landfall kills people above is because…
WARLOCKS ARE THE MASTER CLASS
