I personally believe that minorities do get special treatment, attention or protection(mostly by the media and sensitive majority) for various reasons.

Yes, but that special treatment includes both good and bad things. A black person might benefit from, say, Affirmative Action, but but still suffers from individual bigotry and systemic racism. That treatment may be "special", but that doesn't mean it's desirable.

3 답변Look at you freaking out because those damn blacks aren't your slaves and are way above your level of intelligence. Shut the -blam!- up you racist, you are what's wrong with this world.

I think Racism still exists. While people can play the race card hard, or can play a victim, they don't always. Racism is there. Do I think people play the race card? Yep. I've been hit by a car before and the woman said I'm pissed at her because she's brown, which I'm not. But Racism does exist.

15 답변Oh yeah Minorities have alllll the special treatment. I wish I could be ostracized by something I can't change about myself too. Waaah, why do minorities get safe spaces away from the constant ridicule that they get from society? Christians are more oppressed than Muslims, we never get "randomly" stopped for in-depth, invasive searches. Why don't Christians get to be profiled and stereotyped for the numerous crimes they've committed in the past? White people dont get to be born into a world where they're expected to fail and live in poverty because of the color of their skin. They don't get to live in fear of the police who will murder them for wearing a hoodie, or playing with a toy gun, or failing to use a traffic signal, or just existing.

Everybody yearns for diversity. Please pardon my racism, if you do happen to find this offensive. A black man with a high school GPA of 3.5, and ACT score of 25 tries to enter a mostly white college, say Mizzou for example. At the same time, a white man with a GPA of 3.8, and an ACT score of 30, tries to enroll at Mizzou. If there is only room for one of them, which one is more likely to be picked? The black man, because all that people these days want is diversity. People say that whites are more prove legend than blacks, and to some extent I would agree with that. But in no way does that mean you should be able to slouch your way through school, and still be able to find success in your life, just by "abusing" the color of your skin. You may have grown up in bad conditions, but that doesn't entitle you to thousands of dollars worth of scholarships. All it means is you have to work hard to prove that you are just as good as a man with more opportunities than you. TL,DR; Blacks(and other ethnic groups) have more oppurtunities due to the principles of diversity.
In no way was this post meant to be racist, it was merely meant to address a growing social issue. Any complaints of this comment being racist will not be ignored, they will be shown to be ignorant.
1 답변Minorities require special attention from any functional democracy, less it turns into a tyranny by majority.

2 답변작성자: Neno is drunk 10/1/2015 10:18:38 PMAffirmative Action giving minorities a higher chance at success is bad for whites. Everyday a black name is 50% less likely to be called back for a job interview despite having the same or higher qualifications than white sounding names. Which is bad for blacks. link People are dicks. Instead of fighting we should work towards not being as big of dicks to each other.

21 답변Me being black I tend to see the truth behind police brutality and that minorities aren't treated special at all the average back man earns about less than half of what a white earns and we always usually work twice as hard. So I don't think minorities get special treatment at all.

4 답변작성자: SGT Pogie Bait 10/1/2015 5:41:44 AMWhite, straight, Christian males is the only group that isn't considered a minority or given a "special interest group" status. There are special considerations given to non-whites. There are special considerations given to gays. There are special considerations given to non-Christians. There are special considerations given to women. There is no "White History Month" (nor week or day) In 2007, more men were diagnosed with prostate cancer than women with breast cancer. Breast cancer research gets 75% more research funding than does prostate cancer research. Every year there are rallies, marches, athletes wear pink gear, etc for Breast Cancer Awareness, but name one event for prostate cancer. Women out-number men in the US. If you added up all the "special interest groups", they would out-number the WSCMs. How many times (I'm sure most of you can relate or know of someone) did a WSCM get passed-over for a promotion, didn't get hired, denied a scholarship, etc because they were a WSCM? "Men's Clubs" (only) have been outlawed, but every other group can have theirs. There's a Black Caucus & Hispanic Caucus. Is there a White? There are African-, Asian-, Mexican-, etc Americans but no Euro-Americans. There are Black Colleges; any White Colleges? Why can't men go to Planned Parenthood to get "snipped". Why don't you see a "Men's Health Clinic"? I can go on and on...

2 답변Coming from a black man, yes. Honestly, the amount of pandering to minorities in order to obtain votes is some of the most blatant I've seen in any government in the past 3000 years!

1 답변Example: Universities and some jobs have "minority quotas." This means that if a University has only enrolled 999/1000 minority students this semester the following could happen. Me, 4.0 GPA and a flawless academic record. Minority, 2.0 GPA and an academic record littered with bad past activities. That minority student would get the spot so they could fill their quota. That isn't right. That is special treatment.

2 답변Minorities should (and are) granted protection. Don't take this to mean I think they should have added benefits. In my workplace, diversity in our leadership is encouraged. At times, this probably means a female/minority has an advantage over a white male. But anti-discrimination laws, for instance, are necessary.
