Exotic duplicate madness: 70% of engrams turned into duplicates
First, I love TTK so far and IMO the new Three of Coin is a good idea.
You play (everything but PvP) and get a chance for an new exotic.
But the game is less and less enjoyable because of the massive amount of duplicates.
Friday I bought about 65 coins. I played for more than 20 hours spending most of them in heroic strikes and a few patrol Taken events.
I got 6 exotic Engrams which all turned into duplicates.
I only own a few of the Y2 exotics and still I got 5 Hawkmoons, 4 Hereafters, etc.
Am I the worst case scenario?
Here is a list of all my dropped engrams:
7 primary engrams: 5x Hawkmoons, 2x TLW !!!!
5 secondary engrames: 4x Hereafters, 1x 4th Horseman
8 chest engrams: 4x Alpha Lupi (titan), 3x Alpha lupi (hunter), 1x Praxic Fire
2 glove engrams: 1x Impossible machines, 1x Immolation First (yeah)
about 3 helm engrams: no duplicates (I don't remember which ones were Xured or dropped)
71% of my primary engrams turned into Hawkmoon.
80 % of my seconday engrams turned into Hereafter.
87.5% of my chest engrams turned into any form of Alpha Lupi.
Overall 70% of my engrams turned into duplicates (not counting the first item)

At that point I didn't owned a lot of exotic and was not yet 300+ Since then, I indeed got a lot more duplicates but I managed to have all available exotics from engram but two hunter helms. Yet being able to get 310 duplicates is nice, at least for a time.

15 out of last 15 of my primary engrams have been hawkmoon. 8 or of 8 helmets have been helm of st 14. Then my asshole friend turns in a legendary engram to get a 310 supercell. Top it off with the -blam!-ing 1 drop only hard oryx kill that gives me a 310 harrowed -blam!-ing chest piece. I'm over it

the last bunch of engrams i got went a little like this... x4 celestial nighthawks x5 knucklehead radars x6 invectives x4 4th horseman x2 random titan helms x1 supercell x2 telestos and x2 hereafters...mostly on my hunter trying to get graviton forfeit bungie stop with the duplicates please!!!!!

The only thing that bugs me about the amount of duplicates is that Bungie did say when they first launched TTK. That they implemented a loot system that is supposed to recognize which exotics you already have and lower your chance of receiving a duplicate of those same exotics... Kinda feels like the opposite

2 답변Wow, i have not been grinding anywhere near that much. My three exotic drops (not Xur) have been TLW, Alpha Lupi (hunter) and, don't hate me, Jade Rabbit.

Could be the way that their rng system is coded, since randomness is something computers can't actually do. If you are interested, there are some good articles about how computers cannot be random, particularly one from a few years back about how Apple had to add code in to the iTunes shuffle feature to keep the same artist from playing twice in a row.

I've had the exact same problem. Not just with Exotics though, Legendaries too. I don't even get excited when I see one drop any more because they're almost always Class Armor. And don't get me started on exotics. 5 engrams, the first 4 are all duplicates. OF THE SAME HELMET. Titan gets 8 exotic drops. Every one of them is a helmet and every one of them is a duplicate. I don't spam the 3oC, I just use one at the start of every strike. But I can definitely see why people would if this is the kind of reward system we have to deal with.
