Stupid conversation leads to cool idea
Last night while examining the map and talking to a friend about it i asked my friend where else does he think we will go in future expansion. I joking suggested the sun. A few jokes later, it clicked. What if we could go to the sun?
The basic idea that we came up with is the vex attempt to blow up the sun the wipe out our solar system and all life within it. This cannot happen so the traveler uses the last of its light on the guardians sent to the sun to protect them on the surface. This protection will only last for about and hour or so before it wears off and all the guardians burn to ash.
It is unknown how the entire raid will play out (just like most of the lore in the game ) but at the beginning, the guardians will be dropped off as close as them can via space ship and they will use the suns gravity to pull them to the surface, while dodging solar flares that will knock them back into space where they will float away endlessly (until they respawn and drop again) in the end the guardians need to hijack a vex ship of some sort and leave the gravitational pull of the sun, back into the safety zone before time runs out and they burn up.
If bungie were to come across this somehow (they probably wont) it would be awesome to see something like this in an upcoming vex expansion.

Would be better in a pocket universe ie the weaponary used to destroy the sun creates a schism in time through which the vex overlord or some such is residing, we go in to take him out to prevent the sun dying, all the way through said raid shifting in and out of our own time stream, this could be used to flesh out the lore meeting praedeth a young zavala or shaxx etc... Then finally finishing the raid to find atheon running it. I don't know just seems more plausible.

5 답변The idea sounds cool raid wise, but it makes no sense story wise. The Vex are trying to mechanize the solar system, they don't necessarily need to destroy all life to do that. Also, what would they use to blow up the sun? And if it is a superweapon capable of putting out raging hot balls of plasma, why not turn it on Earth's last city, home of the gaurdians, instead?

1 답변One problem. Nothing is on the sun. No material would be able to withstand that heat. And going inside of the sun wouldn't be much better. The idea I think is great, but it simply can't be done logically. The whole "the sun is going to be blown up" thing I think is great. Although it fits the cabal better than the vex seeing quotes like "the cabal blow up planets and moons just for getting in their way" and "Cabal protocol is to detonate any ship that crashes" the cabal aren't afraid to loose troops and if it means destruction of the vex and us they would do it.

1 답변I think this is really cool and creative. I'd love to see something like this in a future raid. But one thing, what happens when the hour runs out and you get out of the Suns orbit? Doesn't the fire still consume everyone?

9 답변The lack of any kind of scientific knowledge in this post is simply staggering. 1. Does the Traveler also use its Light to turn the surface of the Sun into solid matter to stand on? 2. Most of this idea is ripped off the movie 'Armageddon' and the fortress idea is silly at best.
