The patch notes for the hot fix are up and there's a note about the Three of Coin changes:
"Each of them provides a smaller increase to Exotic Engram drop chance when used in rapid succession"
Just for clarification, does this mean if you use 4 of them before starting a strike, your chances for an exotic drop would be better as opposed to just using 1 before starting the strike?

If you farm Draksis over and over, effectively rapidly killing an ultra, you will have a lower chance at obtaining the exotic than if you did not rapidly kill said ultra.

3 답변What if I use one kill a shield brother, use another kill the other brother. I've rapidly killed two ultras in a strike should I be punished... Maybe I should just farm and watch Netflix on downtime... Bungie has a news section yet so little info in there...

2 답변This would all be much clearer if they just put the cool down timer on it like ammo synths or other consumables. Pop one, and put a timer preventing another one from being used again until timer runs out. Simple and obvious.

3 답변I think a 10 minute cooldown would have been the simplest fix, and it would have corrected two problems: 1) Spamming and exploiting the ToC, obviously, while having enough time to run another strike and pop another ToC for the boss like intended. 2) Keep uninformed players from consuming multiple ToC's at a time thinking they were stacking their odds when in reality only the first one made any difference and the rest were wasted. The game description isn't clear enough about how exactly the ToC's stack and I saw many posts from players who threw away dozens of ToC's in this manner while only getting one ToC worth of benefit. A cooldown would prevent you from wasting ToC's and prevent players from farming story bosses every couple of minutes. Two problems solved.

22 답변It reduces the chance of a drop when used in short periods of time. This is to stop people from suicide killing a boss over and over. If you use one for a strike it will have the same original buff. You just can't cheese the coins/boss to get 5 drops in 10 minutes.

"Three of Coins now provides a smaller increase in Exotic Engram drop chance when rapidly killing Ultras" Straight from the patch notes so my understanding is you get a better chance if u kill ultras faster o.O im confused

I'm pretty sure all they did was fix the issue in which someone kept applying the three of coins, entering a low level story mission, and will kill the ultra while also killing themselves, respawning and repeating that process rapidly. The notes went on to say when there is a time lag (example the time it takes to kill a heroic strike boss) they will work as they normally did.

7 답변The only clarification I need is when does the reduced chance kick in? On kill or on consumption? Example) I have the buff and kill a strike boss. I immediately eat another coin but I dont kill a boss till 10 minutes later in the next strike. Is my rate reduced?

4 답변Well they stack so the more you activate at once, the better your odds. What the patch notes meant was that farming them and rapidly killing majors ( like draksis) means you get less of a chance, while strike bosses still have the same odds as before. It just means you can't farm exotics anymore.
