Ok, time for my second tin-foil hat conspiracy post of the day! So, was running through the promethean code today, and a friend of mine and I discovered this panel with a seemingly hidden message on it. To find it, you'll want to go all the way until you reach "the mine". In this room, there's a red screen your ghost can scan, which prompts him to speculate about Rasputin not waking himself in the first place. He says that when Rasputin first woke up the first of his activity began at this terminal, and that, perhaps someone else woke him up? If you do a complete 180, and take a right, underneath the platform you'll find another terminal (Which I have pictures of above). On the right side of the screen there are repeating binary numbers in sequence. Translated from binary to text, and read from left to right, top to bottom, it basically translates out to this. "[b][i]Who...*blank*...*blank*....who..."[/i][/b] - and it repeats, over and over again. (The blanks are spaces between letters. Each 8 digit binary number is a letter, these two did not translate into actual alphabetical letters, so we believe them to be empty space). So, as what is likely to be the biggest coincidence in history, this could easily mean nothing. BUT. I think we all know Bungie better than that. So, what does this actually mean? Is it just a simple nod to Rasputin searching for who activated him? (Remember, our ghost seems to believe that Rasputin did not wake himself up, but that someone purposefully broke into the vault and woke him up.) Does this have in game consequences, in line with something like the Black Spindle mission? Basically, could this be a hint to something greater? And while we're on the subject? Who woke up Rasputin? Was it the stranger? It does seem interesting as a coincidence that Rasputin is discovered to be awake right around the same time our stranger friend begins to stalk us in the cosmodrome. This is all major speculation, but a really interesting thing to find for me and my friends today. Let me know what you guys think of this cryptic message. What does it mean? Does it mean anything? Let me know what you think below! "[b][i]Who...Who...Who...[/i][/b]" Edit: ALSO! I would like to point out that several terminals in this mission have the exact same message. I don't know if other terminals have a different message, some are speculating there's something spelled out over the whole area. I'll have to double check soon. Let me know if you guys see anything! Edit 2: also, a [b]HUGE[/b] thanks to CodenameVillain for converting the binary bursts into Decimal for us. (Great idea, don't know why we hadn't thought of it). The numbers converted read: 119, 104, 111, 13, 10. They then continue to repeat after this. We've speculated this may have something to do with longitude and latitude coordinates but unfortunately we're not up to snuff on our cartography :P. If anyone can make anything out of these numbers, please let us know! (If I recall correctly, there's a hidden emblem you get following coordinates given in the CE. I'm not a CE owner myself, but have heard from several people that this is the case, which is why we feel there could e a connection. In any case, it's just another foot down the rabbit hole, stick with us, this could get good!). Edit 3: Wanted to give another shout out to "improv64" for double checking the conversion of the whole picture. Seems like a couple people have gotten something other than "who who who". His findings convert the numbers to: who what *garbled* why how why This changes a lot. More than just one word now! Could it be referencing something?
