I am so confused and frustrated with this quest. I've gotten kills with TLW and had them not count. I've used my super and increased my percentage by 10%, but then I'll have a round where I have good K/D ratio, but my quest progress has dropped 10%. I am beyond confused and frustrated with this quest. Yeah, I've been at this for hours and I'm at 4%. Just had a game with a 1.8 KD (18 kills). May not be great for some of you, but it's good for me. Simple math leads me to believe TLW kills are worth 1%, and others worth .5%. I know many are saying just to get better, and I respect that. However, I get to play once a week or so, so "getting good" isn't an option. Really wanted to do the Moments of Triumph, but this isn't worth the effort for me. I play Destiny to have fun and to be REASONABLY challenged... this quest is neither.

Also you don't really need to get kills with only TLW. Here's a trick I've done and I'm not sure if it's well known or is not suppose to be used. Just get a kill once with TLW and the rest with either supers or specials, and heavys. If it decides to stop working again get a kill with TLW and try it again. Hope this helps some of you as it did to me. Made it a lot quicker. I mean I'm decent at crucibles but the last word isn't decent. It's garbage at its state right now with all the nerfs. This quest is absolutely horrid, it glitches 50% of the time and doesn't even register my kills. This is by far the most idiotic and stupid quest I have ever done, and hope bungie recognizes this. I could manage if it actually worked, but half of the time it takes more points away then it should and doesn't reward the proper amount. I'll pop my hammer and get 3-4 kills in a row and die once, then check and my score will go down 2%. It is ridiculous. I consider myself pretty good, having been flawless more then once and knowing my way around the crucible. But this is awful and it needs to be fixed or the chaperone better be the best feeling weapon in the game or I will be even angier.

Literally the worst quest ever conceived. TLW is hands down the shittiest exotic primary I have come across - ffs my hard luck 52 trumped it thrice over in stats and function(a rare handcannon I no longer use) - and the reward for this asininity is only marginally better. I'm a fairly avid crucible player, and this task is infuriating to the point of ludicrous. I have no taste for the unsportsmanly conduct that is almost necessitated by the drawback of this quest; having a friend simply rush me repeatedly or camping in a niche waiting for supers are no more fun and engaging than licking wet cement. As for the only measurable way to complete this without negation: SRL; they removed it from the game! So now I'm stuck using a gun that wasn't even that great in Y1, and is needed to playdough now, to complete an arbitrarily insurmountable task, in order to acquire a gun that is not only also shit in its own class, but equipping it would preclude the use of TLW in the first place(only 1 exotic allowed). 100% grade-A bullshit if you ask me.

Yes, this quest sucks. The gun is junk. I feel like im on the battle field throwing rocks at snipers (scout, pulse, autos included). Even shotties have a higher range. Ive tried staying back and sniping too but there isnt enough ammo to do that the whole match. Heavy is too dangerous to get near. I put on my High Lord Fixer and im back to competing with them, somewhat. HCs still suck, just not as much.

I was never a fan of TLW & never used it PVP. So I decided to give it a go for the Jolly Holiday quest. The first 2 rounds was horrendous (16% progress)...but then something amazing happened!... ...I discovered that it was a full auto hand cannon! Round 3 = 51% Round 4 = 74% Round 5 = 100% Now if I can give some advise (from my very little experience with this gun) to others who are struggling with this part of the quest: 1.) Always use full auto on TLW. 2.) TLW's hip fire perks are pretty accurate if you run into unexpected opponents, so don't bother with ADS when in such situations. 3.) Play very aggressively with it, this gun has shit range & is made to score kills in the front line! 4.) Select Control playlist. Don't run around like a headless chicken trying to score kills, move carefully between 2 control zones & score your kills with opponents capturing zones/ on their way to zones. 5.) Special / Heavy weapon / subclass ability kills also count towards the quest progress percentage (as long as TLW is equipped). So use the special weapon you are best at & use a heavy machine gun with Field Scout to get more kills with it as long as you manage 3-5 bullets per opponent kill (not holding the trigger in like it's the apocalypse!).

I just recently came back to this game, and noticed I had this exotic bounty being a previous fan of [b]the last word[/b] I was excited to start it. Well after a day of doing nothing but playing crucible with explicitly using TLW I have never been so irritated with a quest. TLW is god awful now and this quest is BS. After the entire day wasted trying to do this I finally decided to just abandon the quest. This quest is ridiculous the weapon is horrible and I think bungie can eat crow for that. The end reward is terrible...literally a giant waste of time.

I am glad for those who were able to do it in so few games. But then there are those of us who do try and can't get anywhere with the quest (grinded up to 22% until I could no longer gain progress and started losing it instead...and i did try different days). But I have a solution thanks to SRL! Equip TLW when you play. Im not sure about finishing last, but as far as I know you just need to finish the race and you should get at least 1%. You only lose progress if you die during the race (and it's not a whole lot). One evening of nothing but SRL got me to 49% on that step (about 17 races in not quite 3 hours). It is still a grind, but it's nicer to be making progress rather than lose that precious progress because you suddenly got matched up with a bunch of try-hards who play all day.
