It's 170 and all max damages were brought down to that as it's a year 1 weapon

Nah, 365 was brought down to 170. Only ttk weapons are going to be higher. As of now this doesn't affect anything. Crucible : it doesn't matter and PvE you are still as powerful as you were, the numbers were just readjusted

Well yes and no. If you weren't planning on buying the ttk, you would basically have no need for the higher attack value weapons as year 1 weapons still work in year 1 activities. That being said the most logical reason as to why they did it is for more sales like you said
