I just think that I should be able to FULLY play a game I bought for sixty dollars without paying 80$ more for dlc. Just a thought
Edit: If destiny is a MMO, then it should be free. Vanilla destiny barely resembles a game
Edit: Thanks for all of the positive (and negative) feedback. I think it's important to hear everyone's opinion. Unlike a certain unnamed company.
Edit: Let me know if you want to see more posts from me, I really want to improve this game, and possibly point out some flaws some people don't see.

7 답변Omfg, this is very simple everyone..... Vanilla Destiny owners were able to play the nightfall. Now we can't. Vanilla Destiny owners were able to play the Iron Banana. Now we can't. Vanilla Destiny owners were able to purchase higher tier legendary gear and weapons because this represents an update to the game's meta, not new content. Now we can't. Bungievision are TAKING AWAY from us content that we ALREADY OWNED AND PAID FOR!!!!!!

2 답변작성자: Lizard King 9/9/2015 10:30:07 AMNightfalls required Active Playstation Subscription and base Destiny game. This is the advertised thing in Destiny when we purchased this game. Changing this after a year is against the consumer laws in my country. I'll be filling a complain in my country against this business practise.

1 답변Definitely you should not lose content that you can play. Vote with your wallet, though. Destiny is paper thin. You'd know that before purchasing if you didn't pre-order, and you wouldn't be trapped in it if you didn't, like stupid old me, buy the season pass. I mean, SURE, I've never seen worse release for what was promised. On the other hand, I know there's always the risk of someone like Bungie doing one of the worst jobs I've ever seen. Good games can be made in their entirety for $60. Hey, Good games can be made for a lot less. $60 is what people will pay, or more. Video games are certainly not priced the way they are out of need. They are out of demand. If people like to lick floors for $140 every year, and wear T-Shirts and yell at the 'negativity' being the reason why others don't see the brilliance of floor licking, then let them. Why should someone not take their money away? Enough people walk away from it and you won't find that game around anymore. That's how to deal with it. And yes, Destiny isn't even worth $60, let alone the rest of it.

작성자: Pixel Crisis 9/10/2015 4:01:15 PMHere's what I don't get...with each new dlc, they remove content from the previous dlc. To me that doesn't make sense...it should be separate! They removed the hive / sword spawns to make room for the wolves (yeah just run that one mission over and over they suggested...really!? lol), now they removed the wolves to make room for the taken (and removed the wolves bounties this time)...what the actual -blam!-? Just create and use new spawn in locations and change the spawn timers...also create new npcs. Eris should still be in the corner with quests for newbies that just got that dlc, etc. So now new players will not get to experience these things and some of the new-ish content we paid for months ago has now been removed. What of the new players that buy this content. It should be new to them and they should get the full experience. Ffs .. Its like Bungie has never played a game with dlc content before.

61 답변The core game is fully playable, just as it was from launch. All your Story Missions, Strikes, Patrols, and the Raid are still available. However, certain features and playlists make use of the DLC content. Therefore, since you do not own the DLC, you cannot access said features and playlists. It's not a hard concept to grasp.

14 답변That a console gamer's way of looking at the world. Where the core game is bought for $60...and any DLC is optional. But there are MANY other ways in which games are distributed. What Bungie is doing is actually VERY common for MMOs and action-RPGs. Especially in the PC gaming world. IOW, the game isn't a series of SEQUELS. Its ONE GAME that expands in stages...and you either. 1. Pay for the content as you go (which is what Bungie is having us do). 2. You pay some sort of subscription fee, or 3. You pay for the game additional pieces as microtransactions. I've played all three types of games...and trust me.....what Bungie is doing is BY FAR the least annoying of the three. Sub fees work as long as you are continuing to play the game regularly. The problem is you KEEP PAYING every month, even if you AREN"T playing...and its usually a hassle to continually start-and-stop your subscription...and you usually pay a penalty (in the form of a higher monthly rate) if you try to do so. The microtransaction games I've played really left me with the sense that I was being sold the best parts of the game.....a piece at a time. Oh, we'll **give** you the game for **free**. But what we're giving is really little more than a DEMO...and then we're going to make you pay for all the things that make the game fun or convenient to play in $5 adn $10 installments. DC Universe Online was a supposdely "free to play" MMO. ...and you could play it for free. IF you wanted to deal with not having access to half of the game's super powers and abilities. IF you wanted to endure long waits to be able to play during peak hours on the free servers....and IF wanted to do without a lot other functionality that people want with MMOs. (Oh you want to start your own clan? Oh, that'll cost you $15 a month....a sub fee ON TOP of all the other microtransactions they've hit you up for to that point.) All in all, just to get the game up to a VERSION that was (for me) enjoyable to play....I wound up shelling out about $80...and got only a fraction of the play time and enjoyment out of it that I got with Destiny. Which is why many people have stopped calling games like DCUO "free to play", and instead have started calling them "Free to Download".

Least your not paying 79 + 13% tax, stupid Canada. I miss the $59 games... But I agree with you on principle, if you pay for a game it shouldn't become obsolete. Feels a bit like the strategy used to encourage payments on mobile games. That said I've played the shit out of destiny and it's well worth my money if I'm looking at cost per minute of fun.

2 답변Tl;dr just skip, it's not important. Kellygreen2 has an interesting PoV on this and I think he/she is right when she/he said:
That a console gamer's way of looking at the world. Where the core game is bought for $60...and any DLC is optional.
This is true. The reason it's true is because it's been this way in the console gaming market since the inception of DLC in the console universe. It has only been successful imho due to the fact that you can continue to enjoy the game you purchased on the disc because it still stood by itself with or without the DLC purchase which was only supplemental. I kind of see it as movie people and TV people. TV people will buy a tv show from iTunes or wherever per episode or an entire season. They don't expect a complete story each episode but a small start and conclusion that eventually contributes to a large story arc. Movie people expect to go to a movie theater and see the beginning, middle, and end of a story with a possible opening to add to that particular story in a future movie. I think TV people are like MMO online subscription people and movie people are like console gamers. MMO-ers can easily adjust to different formats (TV movies, 1/2 hr - 1 1/2 hr episode range, etc) whereas if a movie person went to the theater and the story didn't have an actual beginning, middle, or end, was only a half hour long and they'd have to come back each week and pay again they'd all want their money back. If the movie goer was made aware that the film they were paying to see was in that format there would be no hard feelings. Neither is wrong but what's preferable depends on the individual and the market they're used to. I'm off to watch a movie!

4 답변I dont think all mmo's are free or supposed to be free. Look at ESO and WoW... Those games weren't perfect on day 1. How many expansion packs does WoW have? Same goes for ESO, they released their first dlc lately, and they finally ditched their subscription model. Mmo's take alot of time to reiterate and polish...cause they are so big in content, you may disagree for the case of Destiny, but Destiny has enough content for a console mmo. Now my point is that, mmo games are never perfect when they release and developers cant please everybody. Remember that this game will be supported for 9 more years, so The Taken King is probably nothing when comparing whats to come over the next several years. So it's easy for me to forgive bungie with whatever mistake that they make for this game. They are constantly changing and balancing things. Also, remember that this game took a lot of guts to do, meaning that they finally took a huge risk and made something thats beyond a first person shooter, so its obvious that they are not gonna get everything right. So just remember these things when playing a game like Destiny.

1 답변Bump, great post. And to anyone who gives you the "MMO" argument, remember that bungie themselves stated it was not an MMO.

1 답변Bungie created a new product that will revolutionize the gaming industry! Contractions. They're expansions but smaller!

3 답변I wonder what would happen if, when required to renew your licence, Mathematica and Wolfram Alpha gave the option of paying 66% more for a few new characters and minimally useful functions, but making the characters available to everyone and removing the algebra and calculus functions from those that didn't pay more because they didn't want the extra stuff. I wonder what would happen then. Just food for thought.

10 답변Crybabies screaming crybaby things on a crybaby forum... Your "$60 game" is a year old.. Name one game that's more than a year old that you still play besides Skyrim or Diablo.. And maybe GTA

1 답변I agree completely , but worse still is that in Dec 2014 just 3 months after the game launch, m brand new copy of destiny was debased by forced DLC, those of us who did not pay BUngie the blackmail money were left with a lessened products that has diminished game play and reduced rewards.... JUST 3 MONTHS AFTER LAUNCH!!! Bungie have no love for gamers, and don't give a rats ass what we think.

17 답변Why do people complain about this? Destiny isn't that expensive compared to other "MMOs", look at World of Warcraft, $180 USD/ year, just to play, at least Destiny offers permanent access to purchased content.

37 답변Each DLC adds such a massive amount of content, that so many people worked extremely hard on. Shouldn't they be compensated for their work? You can still play the original content without paying for the DLC, but if you want to expand and grow with the game there's a price. Basically you get what you pay for. At least they're allowing us to enjoy a ridiculous amount of extra content for just the price of a DLC instead of releasing each one as a separate $60 game like some companies.
-
yes, we bought the game, we should be able to play what we bought forever, regardless of what expansions they decide to make to ADD to the game, ADD not take away, ADD, expansions Expand the game, not add new content and deny old content out of spite, "well if you dont buy the dlc then well take the stuff you already bought away"

1 답변DLC is ok with me if it's not handled greedily. Which bungie certainly is doing. I would be ok with 30-40 per year. Not 20$ for a month of content.
