It's a learning experience. You learn mechanics and teamwork and how to use tools a weapons in a different way than strikes and missions. There may be a shield relic or sword relic in the new raid and while this person that's on my team has all of the best weapons, I can't trust him to use the shield if I die
Plus the raids are pretty fun

I get that. Mind you, before VoG there was no raid to practice to learn it. Most of the people that are suggesting that newcomers should learn through VoG seem like they're insinuating that they'll be too dumb to learn King's Fall. We did just fine as each raid became available. Why wouldn't they?
