I want to share this with you guys not because I want to complain but because I want to give feedback on this particular experience. Yesterday (Wednesday 8pm) I decided to run the lvl 35 Prison of Elders to attain my last triumph. This was something I had been preparing for most of the week. I collected as much heavy ammo synth as I could and maxed out my galley that I Xurned a couple weeks back. As soon as I was ready, I messaged my sister-in-law, who still needed the triumph as well, and jumped onto LFG. After half an hour we started the lvl 35 prison.
Now it wasn't a smooth ride but after several attempts and a couple of searches for more players we finally made it to the Skolas round. it was 12am already but I was determined to keep going. We proceeded to try, and try, and try again. In the process we (my brother and I, who had taken over for my sister-in-law) had to find a couple different people to join us but we finally found someone who would stick with us until we were done. Only thing is, we never finished. We kept on getting super close to defeating Skolas over and over and over again until next thing we knew, it was getting light outside. I then found out that the game world was rebooting at 8am, we decided to keep going though because we had already put in so many hours. In the end, we couldn't defeat Skolas and we were kicked out of the game world at around 8:40am.
I want to emphasize that I have a deep respect for the game and everyone who helped make it a reality. I have never had an experience like this that I could so easily share with family and friends. Now that being said, I can't begin to explain the heartbreak and frustration that we had as we began to face the reality that, even though we had put nearly 8 hours into Skolas (12 altogether for me), we would not defeat him this time and we would have to start over. Which wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that that may have been my very last attempt as I'm not sure if I'll have another opportunity this week to take Skolas out.
So again, I'm writing this to you guys not to complain but be completely sincere and honest in my frustration about this last night playing Destiny. Trying to beat Skolas feels more like a chore than fun.

작성자: HELP1NG HAND 9/4/2015 3:43:42 PMDang bro. Eight hours against Skolas, now that's a fight. After that much effort, you deserve to taste victory. I would help you out if I could, but I'm on Xbox One. So I cannot stand by you and see you through it. I can however offer you friendly advice. I don't know how experienced of a player you are, and I don't want to insult you by offering a ton of advice you already know. If you understand a point completely, feel free to skip on to the next tip. If you don't, feel free to open the spoilers and read more about them. First, make sure you have a prison key before going in.
They are pretty easy to obtain from Petra, just complete a Wolf bounty mission of her's.
Second, MAKE SURE you have room in your inventory to receive the Shader, ship, and emblem.
If you don't have empty slots in your inventory when you open the big chest at the end, They WILL NOT go to the vault. You simply won't receive them. (Which really sucks).
Third, you pretty much HAVE to be 34.
The damage you will take and inflict makes the encounter nearly impossible if you're not. If everyone in your group is 34 already, then sweet. If not, well you're nearly out of time and that stinks. However, through the etheric light earned from the 34 POE, the armor sold by Variks, and the ability to ascend an exotic with ease, someone can get up to (or at least near) 34 rather quick.
After eight hours, I trust you understand the mechanics of the encounter very well. I will however stress two points: First, you have to stick together and maintain constant communication. Second, if there are any adds on the field -KILL THEM, don't bother with Skolas until he's the last one left.
Your team has to be together to juggle the taint, and mines are best disabled as a team anyway. Adds spawn based on his health, so there's no hurry to keep hurting him if there are already adds on the field. Avoid Skolas, kill the adds, focus on the objectives (destroying mines) and when all you have left to think about is the taint and Skolas, then start killing him again.
If you already knew all this, then I'm sorry -I do wish I could help you more. Don't give up bro! You can still get it done!

작성자: Kone19ps 9/4/2015 3:38:25 PMYou need a Sherpa. Did skolas first try in about 30 minutes. Pilot servitor took longer. We ran two hunters and a bubble but warlocks are fine. Not having a defender Titan though makes the fight much much harder. If you're on ps4 id be happy to help on skolas himself but I don't have the time before ttk for the whole thing

2 답변PoE 35 isn't worth wasting time on and after the 2.0 patch, the exotics you normally get from the elder ciphers (which will be gone as well), will have a chance to drop from the treasure chests anyways.

Dude I can probably get you through the whole thing in little over an hour. But it's obvious you were doing something wrong. I can carry you then your sister in law. Not both at the same time. Add bisto760 and look me up when you see me on. You don't have to do it for that long.

Just keep at it! My first time took over 5 hours, and that was with solar burn. You gotta communicate, and move as a team under certain situations. Personally, if it takes longer than 2 hours now, stop and try again later. Rounds 1-5 are fairly easy to blow thru to get back to him.

I sympathise with you but I must confess, I am unsure why people have this much trouble with the Skolas encounter. If you are geared correctly (I use fatebringer, found verdict and gally), understand the mechanics and are competent at the game it really shouldn't be that difficult. The only time I found it particularly challenging was when it had arc burn as those tracking shots will kill you pdq. Having said that, I don't actually find the fight all that fun. I've finished it enough times to acquire the three exotics (pre and post nerf) and I have no real inclination to play it again. I didn't like PoE at all really, I found it very disappointing.

Took our team four hours. We had the strategy but somehow the blade dancer's invisibility didn't make him invisible to the enemies. We were eventually able to pull it off but still skolas isn't any fun, he's a slog at best.

3 답변You're about the 60th person who has trouble finding a solid fireteam to beat skolas, who I'd love to help and then I find out your on PS4. It seems like a lot of people on ps4 have the worst time finding solid fire teams. I wish I were able to help you out because I get people through skolas all the time very easily.

2 답변write up what system you're using. someone might help you. a simple strategy: it's helpful if you have a defender and a hunter. head far left at the start, kill the servitor, damage skolas, head far right, hop onto the platform and stay on it for the rest of the game. if all goes well, the hunter is the only one that leaves and captures the other two flags invisible. you don't really "need" to have a particular setup but an invisible bladedancer is really helpful.

1 답변They said they are extending the deadline to the 14th. However, I can't imagine your very excited to head back in! It is a ridiculous fight. And just not very fun.

You're taking this rather well. I'd be venting like no tomorrow if I were in your position. 12 hours is unacceptable and I give it to you for sticking it out even tho Skolas or should I say Bungie prevailed. I stopped playing skolas a while back but used to do it religiously 3x a week. POE will definitely be a thing of the past once taken king comes out. But i think the moments of triumph has been extended till the 14th if i read correctly. If ur gonna try it again, good luck. Some tips that have helped me. - Remember to keep switching sides when the crazy gets too much. - Having one of each character definitely helps. - Ads duty should be priority before Skolas - Mines will start once skolas reaches 50 and 25% health so time the essence with the dps. - Not essential but will help if Warlock has just grabbed essence once mines start but dies with it whilst helping dismantle mines. - countdown the essence timer from 10 seconds onwards.
