Skolas Experince - So Far
Right now it's grind time, I am trying so hard to get Skolas done all day. Started at 3pm EST and stopped at 10pm EST, literally non-stop playing. Yet, I still could not get Skolas down.
This is the last item i need to complete in order to get my Triumphs completed. So I'm desperate to get it completed, which i why I put 7 hrs into it today, running through all my Heavy Synths in the process.
First run was with an online friend and a guy he had in his party already, we did good made it through all 5 rounds leading into Skolas. Once we got to Skolas, the only one experienced with it (at the time) was leading us through the steps. We wiped many times, finally we got a grove down and we made it all the way to 25% Health Skolas. Yet, we could not close the deal.
Second run, my online friend had to leave so he made me party leader so I could stay in, his friend also stayed. So I made the journey to Destiny LFG. A guy messaged me stating he was a Hunter lvl 34 w/ max gally. i'm thinking sweet, I'm a Warlock, the other guy is a Titan, with a Hunter we can probably make this happen. Well, it was yet another good run making it all the way to Skolas 25% but again we could not close the deal. Both members ended up having to leave for various reasons.
Third run, I journeyed back to Destiny LFG, this time asking for experienced players and admitting I am a "noob" at this and told I needed my Triumph. I got a lot of helpful replies and many people wanting to party up (thank you everyone, sorry could accept everyone :) ), the two guys were already in a party. This time both of them were Titans, they were very chill relaxed, and very direct with leadership. it was an amazing experience, they were like a well-oiled machine. I could tell they had done this many times, me I had learned the mechanics myself from only playing today. So i followed direction, held my own, and fired my Gally many times. Eventually running out of synths and having to rely on "drops", which I apologized fully to the new members of my fire team, after all they joined after I already attempted it 6 hrs already.
Alas, it was not meant to be today, I left today 7 hrs of hard work and nothing. This fight is very tough, I just hope I am able to beat it in the next few days.
Tomorrow I plan on grinding on Patrol, maybe a mission re-spawn point, to get my Glimmer maxed, so I can empty my wallet on more Synths. Hopefully giving me another 3 - 4 hours to work my way all the way from the beginning, back to Skolas and hopefully a victory.
[b]TL;DR Ran Skolas for 7 hrs today, no victory, not discouraged, but its grind time for my Triumph and I am hoping to get it done this week. Wish me luck fellow Guardians. :) FYI I'm on PS4 if anyone is interested. I play usually from about 3pm - 10pm daily EST. [/b]
[b]EDIT 1: Quick update on status, so many comments, sorry couldn't comment back to everyone.[/b] Success!!! Thanks to the very helpful people of this board, I would name the excellent person who assisted me but unsure if that Violates TOS on Bungie Forums. They know who they are and huge thanks goes to them, it took some trying and it took a few tries but we took Skolas down! Thank you also to everyone who sent me friends request, tips on the battle, and links to strategies. Everyone here showed some real team work and helped this Guardian out a ton. Moments of Triumph complete! :)

작성자: OPC P1nc 9/2/2015 11:03:13 AMOk here is what I think is easiest tactics to defeat SKolas Have a HUNTER, WARLOCk and TITAN Go left destroy Servitor as fast as possible (grenade then shotgun) Then all shoot rockets at skolas (prefer GJ) and stand on HIGH GROUND ... as soon as the bonds are not broken anymore ... go to the right side (through the back) ... if you are not on HIGH ground Skolas will block your way... On the right side Focus on ADDS.. .kill those till almost all are done ... skolas will come right then its time to rotate (always rotate around the map, never go through middle when you dont have to!) Find servitor and start shooting Skolas again... bonds will stay broken if you do it well ... and one of you will get the chalice ... always state to each other what the timer is on.. you should pass it when your around 10 Seconds... prefer 5... never START TO ROTATE when you are near this point... first pass it then rotate... Again kill adds... not skolas yet ! When Skolas will be at 50% health it will bring zones... those are biggest challange ! BUT!!!! You have a HUNTER ! Let hunter be last who hold chalice... he passes it and goes invisible and runs to other side... (warlock and titan stay there!!!) Warlock should hold the chalice !!!!!!!!! (he can self revive, all supers should be full!!!) Titan goes middle with the Bubble ... Warlock will die if Titan or Hunter is not back in time... that is OK , he can self revive .. meet up and start doing the same thing again.. I think at 75 % he spawns zones again... then you can either do same as previous zone... OR ... Kill him quickly with GJ (all should have 7 rockets) and then do zones WITHOUT enemies ;-) There are many ways to do it... but I think most agree, the zones is the crucial point... having a INVIS Hunter really helps ! And Titan with bubble as well. Also when one dies ... remember you need to revive that person in time to pass chalace... WARLOCK should NEVER use his SUPER unless its needed ! Warlocks self revive can save you ! There are two points you keep going to Left and Right side platforms... Left platform is not super save since Skolas comes up there... Right side is pretty save he wont come up there... I usually use ARC shotgun ... two person should have arc shotgun for the Captains... or even all Three... one with a sniper to shoot Skolas is nice... but not nescesairy... you need to shotgun the Captians... they are pretty OP ... And yes have enough Heavy Amo with you... XUR sells em per 5 for 1 Strange Coin... so not having enough Heavy amo will get you booted from lobbies... since you have to be a cheap noob if you dont have em !

When try make there way back over to ur side of the map run clockwise again to the otherwide. Do this on every level and definitely when passing the ikky stuff. U should be able to kill skolas around mine time. Just make sure u still do the mines after he is dead as they still count down. Oh and make sure u nominate one person to concentrate on minions and one on the levels main/skolas, the third on whatever is the biggest threat at that time!! Allow one person to be the leader and call out when to rotate and stop and when passing the ikky stuff agree on what order To pass it. Don't be afraid for it to kill u, this can sometime buy u more time. When it comes to skolas allow one person to say when to use heavy, if U all do it at the same time u will get him. Make sure u have a sniper and supers charged when u do heavy hit at the end.. Rotate the map to allow time get set up. Gd luck!!

I haven't bought synths with glimmer for months and always keep my chars with at least 80 synths and 100+ more synths on my vault just in case. I see you are new and have only 1 char. I suggest you to make 2 more chars to be able to grind NFs and weeklies.

I just had a couple thoughts after reading about your run. If heavy ammo synths are an issue you can do the heavy ammo glitch still. My clan find that having two self-resing warlocks make dealing with the burn and mines much easier. Final thought is the back right platform is your best friend, set-up shop and hide when you need to. Good luck guardian!

2 답변I'm hopefully going to attempt it within the next 16 hours or so. Only Triumph I have left to do, but I'm going to be gone from the 3rd to 8th, so I only have tonight and tomorrow. Hoping I can get it done one way or another.

Wait until you, the warlock, are the next person to get the taint. When the person who has it before you gets to 20 seconds left he calls out to shoot rockets at Skolos. By the time Skolas is hurt enough to spawn mines there should be 10 seconds or less on the taint. You, the warlock, takes the taint. Who ever just passed off the taint goes to the far left mine immediately. Who ever would get the taint from you gets middle platform when it's time. You, the tainted warlock, stays for the mine at right platform. If no one can get back to you before it's time to pass it off you can use self revive and get the mine there. Tips: Titan use armor of light to hold ground inside the bubble during mines Hunter crouch invisible before running out. Blink strike the mine to go invisible again. Warlock is you :)

You don't have to use synths (Assuming you have Icebreaker), don Icebreaker and do heavy ammo thing. We go to platform on right and snipe all the adds until the place is littered with heavy synths to pick up (even better if you equip Corrective Measure while sniping the adds). Change weapons, load up and away you go.....

1 답변You will get there man, it's tough the first time (took me 5 or so hours first time and that's after two failed 6 hour attempts) but once u get it you will find it less challenging. Did it the other week in two hours, that's the fastest I've done it.

1 답변Yeah. I hate Skolas, my team gets soooo close every time, like less than 15% health close, and then our bad luck kicks in. My friends don't even want to try again this week, that's how frustrated they are.

1 답변작성자: gilded_hotdog 9/2/2015 4:37:16 AMWhen you get to 25% ignore caps and finish Skolas then cap. You don't need rockets and all ads should be cleared. I haven't played Skolas in a while but the same tactics work I believe.
