I plan on not turning in all 10 of the bounties right away.
First I'm going to get another 6 bounties up to the new max of 16. With a preference being given to high XP values. Then I'll finish them but not turn them in.
Back at the tower I'm picking up one or two of the new weapons or ghosts or armor.
Then I'll use a focused light and turn in the bounties and claim my Public Event packages.
This way I can maximize my gains from the Focused Light buff.

You'll be overleveled for the story anyway so I don't see the problem. Leveling subclasses is such a long task that you might as well throw all you have at it. I can almost guarantee that you unlock your 3rd subclass in the 2nd or 3 story mission.

Hmmm. I remember them saying weeks ago that you go on the journey to get your old "powers" back because you realize you can't beat Oryx without them. Thinking about it now, I wonder if that opens up AFTER you beat the story campaign. That would certainly throw a wrench in my plan. Also remember in the stream they were already level 40, I think.

It's been awhile since I've leveled a subclass. But if I recall even all those bounties at once only left a small dent. So I would have a greater impact leveling some exotics and hopefully a ghost and class items before even starting the story. Besides the story will be light level based as opposed to level based.

Possibly gameinformer. What doesn't mesh with the stream? The strike they did was lvl36 IIRC. Light level is there from the start but endgame is what uses light level as entry "requirements". Nightfall, weeklies, raid use light as recommended power level to enter each activity. Remember bungie saying that the game is set up of 2 or 3 acts? Act 1 is the story and act 2 opens up another large portion of TTK.
