Today I was volunteering at the Salvation Army giving kids supplies and a woman, about 25 came in with 3 kids. One was 10 the other was a newborn and the other was 6 I believe. Well she came in for supplies because school starts in a week, and she reminded me of me and my mom
Me and my mom struggled and were homeless at one point in life I was around 2 years old and one day my mom wanted to get me a birthday gift but she had no money so she went to pawn her necklace and the lady for whatever reason took me and my mom on a shopping spree.
So I tell this lady, could you wait after for me and she was a bit confused and asked why and I said it's a surprise. So we finish giving supplies and I bring my car around, I ask her if I can give her a ride home (she walked) and she said yes, from there I drove her and her kids to several stores in the mall, bought the new born clothes and diapers, supplies, bought them shoes and clothes and her reaction was the same as my moms, she cried and thanked me
Guys there's always people less fortunate than you. Sometimes those people give up what they have to help others. Do yourself a solid and volunteer once in a while or donate or help someone out. The reactions and experience are definitely worth it. I plan on taking someone shopping on Christmas as well

My mom and I were in the same situation... someone saw us and wanted to know if there was any way they can help us, my mom in her drunken rage pulled the man off his fishing boat after reaching out with his hand. We continued swimming for another 20 miles with the fisherman's boat slowly burning and sinking in the background. It was the last I have ever seen of that old man and my mom, she didn't make it, but years later it would remind me that trying to help someone is only bad luck... and you shouldn't do it.
