Hello Guardians, as the TTK is out next month I went to purchase the download only to find out this; The cost for TTK is £40 (UK price). This is simply not fair in any way! The US cost for exactly the same product is $40. So converting Dollars into Pounds I discover that us Brits should really be paying £25.36, that's £14.64 cheaper. The download is digital from an American based company so I can not see where this extra cost comes from, why are the British paying so much more? In addition a fellow Swedish guardian said they are paying 400 Swedish Krona for the TTK, which converts to £30.43, again a difference of £9.47. I have had so much fun on Destiny but this economic injustice is plain for all to see. A lot of us must also assume that if the Brits are getting short changed then there are other countries that are getting the same shoddy treatment. As a community we have to not let Activision think that they can get away with this, bump if your with me.
Thanks to Vamporius for showing me that there's a petition at Change.org to get this sorted out. For all you that agree please go and sign
https://www.change.org/p/bungie-activision-price-destiny-fairly-in-the-uk?recruiter=367563468&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink
Thanks to all that have supported the cause so far, I have tried to reply to as many posts as possible but you guy's are just too good, so apologies if I missed you. Since becoming a Guardian I have routinely seen how Bungie have tried to improve the game and community in all aspects, this injustice is perhaps just another little part of a much larger puzzle; hence the post.
In conclusion, next time you are in an event with a Brit just understand that we have had to pay significantly more for exactly the same pleasure. Please be considerate by 1) letting us kill you in the new crucible, 2) by allowing us to monopolize any relic/sword or other gizmo that may become available, 3) most of all, ensuring that we always get the most kills and best KDR in any event that we do. These points will help boost our ego's and thus soften the pain caused to our wallets!

Gears Of War UE $40 in US and £30 in the UK. GOG digital downloads are an equal price everywhere in the world (Their tag line is "because $1 does not equal £1") Why can these 2 give gamers fair prices but Bungie cant ? The very fact that they have been asked this question many times and not given an answer is wrong and suggests they don't give a shit.

2 답변The price should be the same across all currencies; by this i mean relevant to global markets as opposed to being the same number.

3 답변작성자: GemCutter 8/27/2015 7:23:40 PMJust because your currency is stronger at this time doesn't mean you get a discount. That's not how exchange rates work in commerce, if bungie prices it at £25 and the exchange rate changes, then they have to up the price? No that's not how its done.

8 답변작성자: Caligrown85 8/26/2015 4:36:09 PMthe only injustice is they actually let foreigners play this game. your crappy connections coming from across oceans are ruing the game. besides the point... everyone with a british accent sound like a pompous jackass who can afford the extra cash.

6 답변작성자: Smith5084 8/26/2015 8:10:05 PMThat's impossible, because exchange rates fluctuate by the second. A company like Bungie is required to pay taxes on profits in two countries... That certainly factors in when they are pricing their product in overseas markets. That being said, the U.S. is also the only country in the developed world that taxes their people based on worldwide profits, and it absolutely needs to stop... I hurts small and mid-sized companies who don't have the resources to move operations overseas. Doesn't make any sense for being competitive in a global economy, but you can believe that it certainly is a pretty significant factor in pricing... I don't claim to know what businesses are taxed over there, but if they are paying 30+% to the British government, and then are taxed another 35% on the remainder when they bring it back home, then there is your answer... Some companies get around it by incorporating overseas... In my opinion, and business that does business over there should do the same, but I can guarantee that is where a decent portion of the blame lies...

It is very sad reading those comments calling you 'insert curse', how can nobody understand the simplicity of what is happening in this First, only occassion when a game/dlc (whatever you wish to call it) has All versions of it simply priced in $'s €'s and £'s with the SAME numbers Before each currencies symbol, yet some Still call tax law/import duties so on and forth.. I really can't believe anyone can honestly defend this, either negative 'defensive' comments are a attempted wind up or people writing insult are a bit slow/just don't give a ****, today I seen the Legendary edition for first time on Psn store, £54.99, had only seen digital collectors and 'expansion' till today, @£74.99 and £39.99 respectively, only difference between legendary/collectors was a vague description of 'extras', for the £20 higher price, I assume that's the dance emotes?, So, TDB stays @19.99, HoW @19.99 or both for £34.99, or buy digital legend Ed and get TDB, HoW Destiny full game And TTK, for £54.99, plus early access to suros pack (lest we forget that, only IF you pre-order mind)... IS Destiny And TTK therefore valued at £20?, of course it isn't... so fed up of the years bieng wrong end of publishers discriminations, Activisions use of Destiny has taken it to very edge for me... By the way, are people aware the 'vanilla' Destiny game has been removed from digital sale, I tried to find it both because I actually need a digital 'game only' (disc reading problem on first PS4, have another luckily, plus for comparisons, I mean £20 'value' for Destiny And TTK in 'bundle' opposed to buying legendary etc, I'd be most interested in the asking price of Destiny vanilla Ed, it's MiA status alone stinks, without considering all the other crap Acti is getting away with.. I don't think Bungie are to blame, sure they could bring it up etc, though so could all other dev's to thier games respective publishers, although in this case it is the first time that currency symbols have simply had same numbers after them, for all ways/versions.. I hear it's slightly worse for Aus and NZ, strangely Japan but Brazil is absolutely getting caned?.. Canadians must be happy though so by Acti's own twisted logic on conversions they've had to take a loss on Canada, otherwise I guess they couldn't get away with it?.

I think the conversion rate is probably due to income economics and/or inflation. Yanks earn less compared to brits so the cost of TTK is weighted based on this. I live in England and am quite happy to pay the price, I balance the price vs playing time and since Destiny saps all of my gaming time I receive value for money. I will probably be paying for it twice, once for the 360 and another for the xbox one as I have good fireteam friends on both - again I am happy to pay this price because of the time I play it. What I would say to anyone complaining about the price is don't buy it, go play something else. It is what it is, the price is the price, either play it and enjoy it or don't, but please stop whinging about it on the forums because no amount is going to change the cost.

wait this is still a thing, I thought by now you would have given up and just bought the DLC. Oh btw, this doesn't force Bungie to do anything, nothing on that page actually forces anyone to make any actual change.

4 답변작성자: Trophy Un1ocked 8/26/2015 9:46:37 PMOk forgive my ignorance, but Say a new game comes out in the UK, how much do you pay for it, what is the average price of a new XB1 or PS4 game? Edit 1: Thanks for all the info, now according to a local retailer here in the us where I live I can get Witcher 3 for between $49-$59 USD depending on the system/particular retailer. I would like a bit more info on other games to price compare the "new" condition and geographic location price difference. But from what I have noticed from other games in the past where Europeans complain about "this" or "that" coming out to different prices, I just don't understand how this seems to be a "new" or "unique" problem plaguing just this game. TO my knowledge this isn't effected by Higher wages, or cost of living, those would only effect the same country not separate countries. Thus why the price of say a particular meal costs more or less in this location vs that... What I have noticed in the gaming industry is that many games cost a particularly flat rate, usually between 50-60 USD (NEW) HOWEVER that being said, 1 USD is not the same as 1 EURO/Pound or whatever currency you guys use. So the whole argument that "we pay X amount more" is invalid, because, however unlikely from a day to day basis your currency might be stronger than our 1 USD, one day you might pay many more $$$ than we do, then the next day you could play much less. That's my understanding of economics, and its been over a decade that I've taken any course related to such things.
