I hear so much talk regarding year 1 weapons becoming useless in TTK to which Bungie reassures year 1 weapons will STILL be useful in year 1 activities (patrols and crucible). Here's my take on this. This has been on my mind and surprisingly nobody brought it up. Why in the hell would any given player personally handicap themselves in pve activities just to use older guns?! If a new Olomon pulse rifle packs a bigger punch than my Spare Change, why would I use my Spare Change? Is Spare Change effective in current pve activities? Absolutely. But is Olomon Shitter Shatter going to be MORE effective than Spare Change due to better attack values? You bet. So in conclusion. Unless you're the type of guardian that likes to make things more difficult for yourself, year 1 weapons will truly be obsolete moving forward. A moment of silence for all our crap.
