This woman doesn't understand that feminism [i]does [/i]talk about men's issues. However we focus more on women's issues because women have historically had the short end of the stick, and still do. On top of that, we acknowledge men's issues, but understand that men's issues stem from male-dominated society. Men aren't allowed to be weak in our society. Nobody believes a man when he says he was r@ped because "he should have enjoyed it, men always want sex." Nobody believes a man when he says he's a victim of domestic abuse because "his girlfriend is a woman which means she's weak and can't possibly hurt him, he should be a man and stand up for himself." More men die in war because, in the US at least, it's only been recently that women have been allowed to be in combat, because men view us as weaker and unable to handle combat. Men have to pay alimony because men are seen as stronger and more capable, so it's assumed that the man makes more money and has more to give, and it's assumed that the woman stays home and takes care of the kids and needs the financial support of the man. Alimony was a sexist concept to begin with. Men are called "pussies" and "-blam!-" when they show weakness or emotion. These are words associated with femininity. The worst thing you can do to a man is compare him to a woman, because men view women as "below" them. All of these issues stem from hyper-masculinity, social conditioning pressuring boys to grow up hard and emotionless. So yes, men have problems too. We acknowledge that. But we realize that men are the cause of most of their own issues. Yes, on a small scale, there are women who oppress men. There are women who abuse men, who hate men, who do horrible things to men. But on a societal level, men hold most of the power. Feminists don't hate men. [i]We hate sexism, we hate misogyny, we hate hyper-masculinity, we hate patriarchal power structure and social conditioning.[/i] Feminism isn't about making women more powerful than men. Feminism isn't about making women "above" men. Feminism is about achieving equality by dismantling patriarchal power structure and destroying misogyny, including internalized misogyny that even [i]women[/i] still have. And any woman that dismisses feminism is dismissing hundreds of years of strong women fighting for our rights. Dismissing feminism is spitting in the face of the women who fought for our right to vote, our right to join the men in combat if we so choose, our right to birth control, or right to bodily autonomy (which we still haven't fully achieved), our right to not be fired for being pregnant, our right to get a credit card, our right to refuse to have sex with our husbands (for my straight/bi ladies out there)... I could go on and on about rights women have today that we wouldn't have without feminism.

I just wish everyone would do a bit more research over the issues of equality. I think both the MRA and Feminists are much to radical for their own good, and honestly remind me of children bickering. Obviously both men and women face discrimination, but instead of the two groups coming together and promoting actual change they just breed hatred towards the other sex, leaving a situation where "All men r@pe" is an acceptable thing to say, as well as thinking that some women want the eradication of men, and this thinking is inexcusable. It's irritating to think that members of both of these groups think that their lives are comparable to those living in the third world, as if genital mutilation is somehow the same as someone not respecting a "trigger", something that has scientific backing of not being healthy and not existing nearly to the extent as portrayed. I just hope that everyone can do research so that actual, intelligent discussions could take place instead of slurs such as "Cismale swine or feminazi" being thrown around, and devaluing the other parties opinion. TL;DR The groups promoting equality today are highly misinformed, and honestly need to stop fighting each other and start working together.
