Do you think it would qualify as discrimination if Xur sold a digital item at 13 strange coins to Americans, but priced the same item for British people at 18 coins?
The Taken King dlc is a digital item, and Bungie's pricing policy would have us pay the equivalent of $63 USD.
Do you think they make a product then don't get to say what it's worth? A lot of you guys think the DLC is overpriced at $40, imagine how British fans feel.
If Xur made some pay more than others there'd be an outcry.
Edit:Thanks for your feedback. Most people prefer to call it discrimination not racism - I stand corrected, post and title updated to reflect that.
It's encouraging to see support from both sides of the Atlantic, personally if I stood behind my friend in a queue and he was asked to pay more for the same thing - I'd complain big time.
Thanks to 'OLDBOYvicious' below for an epic explanation of the issue - too bad Bungie couldn't just respond in the same way.

2 답변Please change "bungie" to Activision as bungie didn't do that. Bungie is the game developer, that's it. They made Destiny. That's all they did. Activision is the publisher, meaning they are I charge of marketing and profiting.

So it's not as bad as it may seem. But in reality ask your self what it's worth to you? I can justify the paying the money as I've played over 1200 hours, in my opinion worth every penny.

It's not racism/discrimination, that's just how the real world works. Activision/Bungie and the majority of other publishers and devs sell their products at higher prices because they can. It's nothing to do with race, it's about greed.

1 답변How much was vanilla destiny in the UK? How much are other games in the UK? If the normal price of a game there is £60 then there is really no issue with them charging 40 for TTK as it would seem they are being consistent. If full games are usually less, then yes I'd say you are getting ripped off. Pricing in different countries can be tricky though. A lot of things differ in pricing from country to country and do not perfectly match up. Not sure why video games would be any different.

2 답변Race and ethnicity are sometimes confused. Americans, as they are right now, is a cultural wonderland of different beliefs, cultures and skin tones. Most of the kids I work with at my job have this beautiful golden brown skin. They are Americans. It's the same way with many other countries. Now having said that the difference between people across the pond isn't race but ethnicity. Careful how you use that word.
