Good bye to all the toxic players
So I've been playing since beta, I have three characters all 34 if I put the armor on them for it. I've been through the highs, the lows, the buffs, the nerfs, vault of glass, crotas end, prison of elders. I still have my shadow price. Vision of confluence, G-Horn, the loot cave, I've seen it all. And let me say, I LOVE everything they are doing with the taken king. People are complaining that they are taking away our old weapons and armor, do you actually want to use the same weapons for the next ten years? You do realize that things change right? Why are you complaining that there are new weapons and items and activities out there to discover and obtain? They aren't just erasing all of your stuff, it will still be there, it just won't be the best stuff in the game any more. Which is what happens in every DLC/Expansion/sequel in the history of gaming.
So for all the people saying that this was a dumb move, or they aren't playing any more because they can't upgrade their fatebringer/G-Horn/Thorn, and attacking people for being ok with the changes, good bye and good riddance. You are part of the problem, not the solution. I hope you find fun some where else, but please stop poisoning this mostly great and helpful community.
Edit: for the people that don't get it, I agree it would be nice to have all of our things carry over, but in this type of game, that's the nature of it. Each time the game expands we will have to put our old toys away, and go out and get the new ones. Is it right, or going to make everyone happy? No, but that's the game design. I have no problem with people stating their opinions, but attacking people and claiming to boycott when everyone knows you won't is not going to solve anything at all.

If EVERY exotic carried over through the 10 year duration of this series, the final Destiny game would have like 200 exotic weapons and like 40 legendary weapons to choose from. Not only would that completely take away from the "exotic" factor, but that would be impossible to balance, and would eventually come to a point where they just stopped making new weapons altogether. How people are completely blind-sided by this is beyond me. The December quote people keep referencing is irrelevant to me because ideas, such as development and vision, change on projects of this magnitude and that quote is 8 months old. Do I wish they would find a system and stick to it? Absolutely, but people need to come to terms that this is how games like this function. New, higher level content drops, so we need new, higher level weapons to use. We should just be thankful that SOME exotics are coming back and stop focusing on what was omitted. The full "exotic plan" hasn't even been completely outlined yet by Bungie, so many of these threads are based on speculation.

I'd be more okay with the whole "Leaving weapons and gear behind" if there wasnt such a small handful of gear and weapons to equip to be unique. Which based on year 1. There wont be. I mean even the gear shown in the stream just seemed like the same shitty robes a warlock gets just colored different. Its no fun running into other guardians that look the same as you. With the same weapons and set up. Thats what annoys me the most about this leaving behind situation. If they were adding tons of weapons and gears so i dont run into a guy that looks like me 34242 times. it'd e okiedokie in my book.

I'm happy they are nerfing every single piece of gear i grinded for so i will have incentive to play again" are mind numbingly ignorant. First off, if YOU are bored then drop your "boring" guns voluntarily, exercise some willpower, and go try something new on your own accord. Trust me, its better than being forced to grind for new guns. Secondly, who are YOU to say to those who grinded endlessly for an entire, literal YEAR building an arsenal perfectly tailored to to the way they play and love to just move on, "stop whining"? How dare you. Thirdly, if players were to keep their old guns it would not harm YOU nor anyone else in anyway. So what if i want to use the Strange Suspect for 10 years? It is and should be MY/the players choice to make, NOT yours or anyone opposing them. You are literally opposing something that cannot harm or dull the experience for you or anyone else in any way and would also make half the player base very happy! Lastly, just because someone plays to build a weapons collection or for a different reason than YOU doesn't mean their way of playing or opinion is wrong. People have different perspectives on this game! Just because they don't share yours doesn't mean they should GTFO. Honestly, if you can't respect theres then YOU should GTFO as it is not a matter of moral anymore, it is a fact you cannot handle others opinions.

I am very much looking forward to a bunch of new things to attain. I am concerned though about the time that these new weapons will stay relevant for... Year one has been full of experimentation, currencies have come & gone, & weapon mechanics have been changed again & again (in some cases though with good reason). Will TTK changes set the pattern for future content or will the whole game undergo yet another huge transformation in 4 months time? Take POE or ToO which haven't really been out for very long - very quickly those guns, armors etc we have all been chasing will be the first things we remove - in order for us to be competitive in TTK. Perhaps Quests will take us back to some of those activities briefly, but I feel most of us will be focusing on acquiring new powers/weapons/armor etc. It just seems to me there's an awful lot of content in the game for new players to experience which they may opt to miss out on... If your giving new players an item that boosts you to level 25 how many new players will bother with the original story missions? And how about year one players going back to that old content with new gear & powers? Will we be vaporising Atheon in moments with a stormcaller or binding Crota in place so a team of guys all carrying the new sword weapon type can finish him in mere moments? Hopefully this will have been anticipated but no one really knows. In summation, yes I agree the new content & weapons are very much needed to extend the longevity of the game but unless there is enough content within TTK to keep our interest levels high, we may miss those older (yet still valuable) experiences that Bungie has decided should be left behind with the year one content. Those well crafted raids should be enriched & incentivised for new players & not forgotten.

1 답변Moving forward is not the problem. The design decisions implemented to force players to spend most of their time and energy in the new content baffles me as a game designer. Add a new difficulty to VoG, have it drop the new TTK weapons, and bring Mythoclast into year two. Lower level players will want to play the raid for 26+ gear and weapons (and the shards for glimmer), and higher level players can try for the mythoclast. And they might get some new gear out of it as well. A game with this little endgame content cant afford to reset back to one relevant endgame raid. Keep the raids relevant. The old weapons could keep their power levels. If you want people to use new weapons and not just Fatebringer, you need to make weapons that are better or more interesting than fatebringer. Bungie had this opportunity. Adding more perks, and more interchangeable perks as the game goes forward would naturally cause the older weapons to fall behind. Why use Fatebringer which has two perks, when I could use the Omolon Hand Cannon with four? Or the Suros one that fires rounds with tracking? This is the route I thought they were going for. Instead, Bungie is trying to make their new weapons and armor more desirable, by creating a synthetic gap between the old and the new. Hence all the outrage. The gear we were told would make us legend, is now only here so we can be level 34 when TTK drops. Destiny has a lot of problems, and I believe most of them stem from high on the Design team. Vanilla Destiny and Year two were lost a long time ago. We'll see what they do next year.

4 답변You're being dumb Bungie is making a HUGE mistake by leaving exotics behind, they are supposed to progress with us. Dumping them in the trash is lazy, and personally I think they need to re evaluate that philosophy I remember the first time xur sold icebreaker and I had 16 strange coins and I was about to give up but I decided to create a titan to play that one mission where you get a strange coin from the cryptarch and I was so happy I did that on Saturday night and purchased my first ever exotic. Don't take that away from me I don't care if some exotics don't have a year 2 version but what I do care about is if they have year 2 attack value. There's a difference between being forced to use new things and having the option to use new things, and I don't think you understand that Bungie.

Ok. For anyone that doesn't have endless time to dedicate to a video game, having you character stipped of over half his gear after grinding for a year is a big deal. if obsessive gameplay renders more time than your responsabilities then it's way beyond a game and hence the fanbase it's turning into.

They need to make year 2 weapons more appealing to use, not just drop the old shit and say "we don't like what you're using, we want you to use this", it's not right. Bungie stated they want everyone to have a "story" about how they aquire a certain weapon, now everyone will have the same story, "I had X weapon that took me forever to get, but they wiped the slate so now I use this." I can agree with some of your points, but I do not agree with others. I don't think that makes me toxic, it just makes me feel like I have been swindled.

I m NOT telling you are bad, I m neither telling I m a day 1 guardian, besides i have explored and collected lot of staff, that will be left behind, though I m ok with that, is still a good game BUT the lack of ingame tools such as matchmaking for basic activities kills my experience...

Share your knowledge of economics, tell us about your countless years of gaming experience. FUT makes you earn the best players every year instead of your amazing team (or arsenal in destiny's case) carrying through every FIFA title. Getting exotics is one of the best feelings in this game, if I already have 30 then it's kind of pointless unless one is far superior to all others (which in TTK the aim is for that not to be the case)/

10 답변I swear people with 100,000 medal score favorite argument is "do you really want to use the same weapon for 10 years" destiny is a grinding machine and we have shown that certain weapons make the grind smoother. We are only here for the loot. No new exotic has shown to be better than vanilla with the exception of a few armor pieces. I am worried that these new guns are going to suck or be gimmicks. Only time will tell, but we the consumers should be the ones dictating how we want to play the game. We are the ones making their pockets bigger and for what? To get treated like shit. Keep throwing money at the screen fools

Yes I love my old weapons :( but I'm open to change and can not wait to play TTK In fact once I run a new strike or raid, at least once, I'm going to challenge myself to completing a strike and raid with only year one weapons ( I do not know about the armor since the new way they are doing it ). Hopefully this gets forces the players that only wanted Ghorn players or max grimoire players with them...I have a feeling that if they do leave then the new community of players would be a lot better to play with.
