So I've been playing since beta, I have three characters all 34 if I put the armor on them for it. I've been through the highs, the lows, the buffs, the nerfs, vault of glass, crotas end, prison of elders. I still have my shadow price. Vision of confluence, G-Horn, the loot cave, I've seen it all. And let me say, I LOVE everything they are doing with the taken king. People are complaining that they are taking away our old weapons and armor, do you actually want to use the same weapons for the next ten years? You do realize that things change right? Why are you complaining that there are new weapons and items and activities out there to discover and obtain? They aren't just erasing all of your stuff, it will still be there, it just won't be the best stuff in the game any more. Which is what happens in every DLC/Expansion/sequel in the history of gaming.
So for all the people saying that this was a dumb move, or they aren't playing any more because they can't upgrade their fatebringer/G-Horn/Thorn, and attacking people for being ok with the changes, good bye and good riddance. You are part of the problem, not the solution. I hope you find fun some where else, but please stop poisoning this mostly great and helpful community.
Edit: for the people that don't get it, I agree it would be nice to have all of our things carry over, but in this type of game, that's the nature of it. Each time the game expands we will have to put our old toys away, and go out and get the new ones. Is it right, or going to make everyone happy? No, but that's the game design. I have no problem with people stating their opinions, but attacking people and claiming to boycott when everyone knows you won't is not going to solve anything at all.
Edit: if you get shut down by other people in another comment, I'm not acknowledging you unless you have something intelligent to say.
Edit: done answering the same questions/comments over and over
Edit: jeez guys, never expected this to get such a reaction. Thanks for all the replies, 90% of you have intelligently responded with why you agree/disagree with me, and I thank you for that. Keep up the great work!
Edit: over 500 replies? Crazy

Except you should want to delete your old stuff for the new stuff, not feel regret for deleting the old stuff, like Shadow Price, because the new stuff is worse. Yes, this is how it should work. When the reward for running the endgame in the third DLC is a shank burn void rocket launcher, I can understand players' skepticism.

14 답변작성자: E1007 8/22/2015 4:25:02 PMLol 3 34s? Your hunter is wearing blue boots and has never a done raid. "Beta player" smh. To actually provide a relevant argument; why is it that a new player is instantly stronger than a majority of the player base? It's because white weapons are now stronger than our most prized weapons. Why should I move on? We all know now that now that we're reduced to blues we'll be spending hours on strikes we used to finish in minutes now. A beta player can remember how hard it was to kill the Walker Tank with greens, but now its coming back. TTK exotics and legendaries being much better is an exuse to raise playing time. They don't care if you did VoG 23 times for fatebringer, they want you to struggle and grind. New TTK bosses will be tanky, it only raises player play time. And like my previous point they'll all be like that Walker Tank during the Beta. I'm trailing too far off. Bungie refuses to let us use old legendaries because they don't want us rushing through there new content. I see this as a lack in confidence in their product. They know that if you continue to use the same weapons, you'll beat the story no problem much quicker than they want. This is bad as their dlc is already under fire from pricing issues and year one players being treated like garbage. They must increase the play time of the story as much as possible. These practices scare me because it proves that they want playing time over content experience. To those who say why use the same weapon for ten years. It is Bungies job to make new and exciting weapons. It's part of the reason we buy dlc's. Bungie, to a certain extent, has done this but in a very lazy way. Once again Bungie is not confident in their product so they force these weapons to be better by making everything else Shit. Upgrading to newer weapons should be a choice. Sorry for the rant, I think I'm actually going to make this a post because it isn't the same washed up arguments people have been using. TL;DR Bungie is not confident in their product, so they use play time increasing methods to force us to play their dlc longer. Edit 1: 2 hate replies with the same recycled insult Edit 2: I am now a
hipster douche
The option should at least be available though. I don't being told to drop my current gear for new stuff that might be crap. The fact that they prefer a small amount of gear selection to a large one completely contradicts one of the main aspects of the game. Character customization. I'm supposed to be unique yet as always I look like everyone else. Making gear irrelevent merely furthers a problem that's been around since launch. And you know what? Telling the people complaining to leave doesn't solve a damn thing. How do broken things get fixed if no one complains about it?

I'm not hateful for losing weapons, I'm not a fan of losing then I'll admit but I'm just hoping that what they replace them with won't just be generic faction weapons or guns aimed at just one enemy type like the majority of HoW did, they only added trial and wolves gun realistically that were unique and revamped all the old faction gear to become generic and hold just about any perk you were lucky to stop on them

2 답변작성자: Mainestreamer 8/22/2015 5:47:02 PMIt doesn't make sense lore wise either. Why should a weapon I beat Oryx son with be viable against Oryx. He wouldn't bother coming if he thought we had all the firepower to beat him. So we just take his weapons and beat him like that.

12 답변Completely missing the point . ttk is another example of bungie removing a players options If you want to use fatebringer in year 5, why shouldn't you? Bungie is artificially replacing our gear, so that they can reinstitute the endless grind fest Instead of making our old gear useless, why can't we have gear that is interesting that is useful? Gear that makes us want to leave our old stuff behind. People don't like being forced to do things and that's what bungie is doing. Been using an assault rifle in halo for over 10 years and I'll be using it again come halo five

We raided and did nightfalls 3 times a week hoping for lucky drops. We moments and memories attached to our gear too. The bone of contention here, is that we thought our gear was going to carry over into the following years, that's why we grinded for it. I understand this is typical of MMOs, but Bungie never considered Destiny a MMO, so there's that. If they communicated to us much earlier that out gear would not carry over, we wouldn't have spent so much time to get it in the first place, and would have spent more time looking forward to new stuff. I understand your tired of hearing it, I'm tired of folks telling me to get over it. We thought our time collecting gear was going to amount to something, but it amounted to nothing. And that's why we're upset, we voluntarily gave time to this game, time that we could've been spent elsewhere; and we feel it's been wasted. I'm not looking for an argument, I just wanted to point out what seems to be an unpopular viewpoint on this forum. For all you would be trolls, take these tears \_/ and collect your bounty.

I just think Destiny 1 stuff should stay viable in Destiny 1. If they were just expanding the original game for 10 years I could understand what theyre doing. But they're not. They're gonna milk you for every penny they can. Why just expand it when they can make you pay $60 every 2 years on top of 3 or 4 overpriced DLCs? There are better games, and better game companies who aren't Activision's and Sony's little whore. They just seem like bumbling, unorganized, bait and switch, liars to me.

Personally I'm looking forward to it,we've been grinding and playing the same old stuff for a while now and a bit of cane didn't hurt anyone and who's to say that we might end up with better guns that Thorn, fate bringer.g'horn ect. I say bring it on :)

4 답변I must say, quite impressed to read a post from a fellow beta guardian that gets how things are supposed to work. Always nice to know not everyone in destiny is a butthurt child about everything. See you in year two, as we move toward a better destiny!

All these players are ignorant to the fact that Bungie is the reason these weapons are still stronger than new weapons, not the players who like them. If they knew how to make weapons better than the originals, We would not have these problems. I'm glad they are becoming obsolete, however, they should become this way because of better weapons being introduced. We should have NEVER been able to ascend old weapons.

My issue with this isn't that all my weapons can't come over, really. But A; there has been a distinct lack of clear communication up till now exactly which exotics can/can't and B) I don't intend to play with any weapon for 5-10 yrs, was that a serious comment on your part? But having gone into the VoG several time and knowing others who've done it loads more I can agree that the work put into getting either a specific weapon or just any of the Raid gear it is a frustration to be told "You can use it in the crucible or vanilla". Sorry, but that's an insult to me, and that is because A: I don't play crucible all that much and Raid geat doesn't exactly match up for it even if I did beyond some weapons like PR or FJ for me. And B: Why would I use an older and now "Weaker" weapon to run a Patrol/Strike(if you can)? I believe that is the issue, not "collect my whining tears because I can't use my old weapons forever". TBH, I'd expect to replace what Raid gear I use with some newer, cooler looking shiny piece I find in TTK, that's just normal. But here's also a thought to consider, why would any new players take any time to do VoG/CE for weaker weapons than TTK? Doing a Raid as anyone is aware isn't a 25 minute operation (well for the groups I was with at least and requires more than solo) Wfor most people) when at lvl 20 they can already be doing TDB/HoW and at 25 TTK?
