EDIT 2: IN BIG CAPS PLEASE READ!!!!!! I AM NOT SAYING DESTINY SHOULD BE WOW OR DESTINY IS AN MMO. I AM SAYING IT BORROW THE SAME TROPES AS AN MMO. PLEASE RE-READ THE PREVIOUS AND LETIT SINK IN
I really don't get all the hate that Bungie are getting with TKK?
In WoW every year we have to deal with the previous versions of your armour and weapons getting weaker as content gets higher levelled. This is common an MMO-esque space. Why is it so hard to accept here?
EDIT: EDIT: A lot of people seem caught up on the MMO aspect that I have suggested. For a start I called it “MMO-esque”, which means (in my mind), it borrows MMO mechanics and this is irrefutable. I have taken the liberty of doing a comparison below. Again this is fact
Destiny
Daily quests- Wow has this
Raids- Wow has this
Loot system (green, blue purple, exotic)- Wow has this
Battlegrounds/PvP- Wow has this
Currency- Wow has this
Strikes- Wow has this
Level associated gear/weapons-Wow has this
Levelling- Wow has this
Social Spaces- Wow has this
Gear Progression -Wow has this
FPS- No wow does not have this

1 답변I couldn't agree more and as a previous WoW player from Vanilla until Cataclysm, I understand the trade off and just as lost as you that people have such an issue with the changes.

I hope the weapon foundry weapons that Bungie are adding will help keep things fresh and feeling different for different playstyles. It at least seems like people will still be able to use Y1 weapons in the regular crucible which still let's us scratch the static FPS itch.

Destiny has all of 5% the content of WoW. When Destiny brings half the content WoW does with each expansion I will be ok with mmo-esque mudflation. Options are important. And what they are leaving and keeping is what is bothering everybody. It is incredibly arbitrary. They fix guns just in time for them to not be useful. This means that some of that 5% of content was NEVER relevant. And then they finally add something truly exotic and that actually supports team coordination (lord of wolves) only to leave it behind. And again right after they buff it's team orientated perk.

I am an ex-taurent druid from WoW. I left that game in pandaria. The game itself did not evolved after years. I found destiny as a perfect option to migrate until i realized it has a BIG lack of ingame basic tools for activities such as matchmaking. I m ok with the next dlc... except, is just an empty reshape, it needs ingame tools to not rely on a pc or website to play on a console.

1 답변If you play a game with MMO-esque mechanics like Destiny or WoW, and get upset that your loot is gonna be useless come next tier/xpac/ or whatever, then you need to play the game for the experience, not to get the "best" stuff and become an all-powerful being. I play wow, more specifically, raids on the hardest difficulty, which went from just being on 25 man, to hard mode, to mythic difficulty. I've been through Naxxramas, Sartharion, Malygos, Ulduar, Trial of the Crusader, a whole year of Icecrown Citadel, Ruby Sanctum, Bastion of Twilight, Throne of the Four Winds, Blackwing Decent, Firelands, a whole insufferable year of Dragon Soul, Mogushan Vaults, Heart of Fear, Terrace of the Endless Spring, Throne of Thunder, 14 longs months of Siege of Orgrimmar, Highmaul, Blackrock Foundry, and currently progressing through Hellfire Citadel. If I only played for the only purpose of getting loot then I would've quit a long time ago. It's a journey, not a destination

11 답변Yeah, but in WoW the gear actually works and if it doesn't, it gets fixed in a timely fashion. In Destiny, this is not the case. Many of the exotics have been broken for a very long time. Bungie promises to fix alot of them. When they finally do it, many months later, they make said gear totally irrelevant at the same time. Sure would have been nice to at least enjoy the gear, such as Nechrochasm, Hard Light, etc. while it had meaning.

My 2 WoW friends always laugh when i tell them of common forum complaints relating to new content (DLCs). Destinys grind is baby compared to WoWs. been playing since launch and still no mythoclast? lol thats a WoW player's struggle for gloves and boots. taking a while to get a raid run going? try organizing 25 people, THEN complain about LFG troubles.

2 답변작성자: Anomolous147 8/21/2015 6:01:04 PMGood post OP. I think a lot of the salt comes from the fact that Destiny is primarily a FPS with MMO borrowings. The player-base is therefore made up primarily of FPS folks who have FPS expectations. In Halo, the BR at launch is still the BR to this day - it never became OP, it never became obsolete. Compare this to the WoW crowd which jumped in knowing this to be an RPG and jumped in the RPG expectations. I've always wanted Destiny to borrow more RPG mechanics and I'm therefore not terribly upset that my FB no longer qualifies me for PVE god-mode. I think however that most of the saltiness stems from this point. EDIT: Another point I'd like to address is that Bungie so far has done a fairly poor job of making the DLC weapons desirable (both in TDB and HoW). This may be causing the community to lose faith that their favorite guns will ever be replaced by something equally (or dare say better) usable. TTK weapons look amazing, if they indeed turn out to be then this issue may die rather quickly. keeping the fingers crossed

2 답변작성자: KitsuneSonow 8/21/2015 3:19:24 PMThis pretty much sums up the mindset of almost every person on the forums. You can give them they want, but if it's not exactly the way they want it they complain and even when you finally get it right they just throw back in your face.

작성자: [SiN]大き氷 8/21/2015 8:25:02 PMNever played WoW, but been playing Diablo 3 since launch. Really any RPG that is continuously updating is going to have this sort of thing happen a lot. If people don't like it then I suggest they quit before they have a rage induced heart attack. Seriously think about your health. Also assuming people keep throwing the 'it's not an MMO' excuse around. To which I'll say obviously, but that doesn't make the MMO elements within abandon that nature when things change. Damned nerds.
