The Gjallahorn NEVER WAS THE RAREST! Praetorian Foil and Praedyths Timepiece are still more the rarest in the game. They simply don't -blam!-ing drop!
If you want really rare, try the original queens sniper rifle from week 3, or a Comedian, or the Swarm. The original weapons are quite rare now.
