Edit: Why have you all decided to start responding on this post again?
As someone who struggles with getting Fireteams together, I wish Destiny would allow Raids to have a matchmaking element. It should always be an option, no matter if you already have a Fireteam or not. Nobody will join a Fireteam if you do not want to speak over mic, and I find talking with people I've never met incredibly awkward and annoying. Not that the people are annoying, just the amount of unknown factors of douchiness that go in to public chats. I hope SOMEONE agrees, because I have not been able to take part in any raids because my friend who plays Destiny is online at different times and it's hard to create a Fireteam. It also seems as though it makes you feel left out because it talks about "Playing online and communicating and making friends", to which I say that Online Friends are just pixels and a muffled voice, they are not true friends.
Edit 1: This has truly become quite the discussion! I've joined some groups now that are constantly posting stuff about raids. Matchmaking should still be an option though. Keep up the good discussion! Maybe Bungie will notice(just kidding-they don't give a shit)

I know what you mean getting a fire team together is hard but the majority of people who want to join the raid have no interest in speaking. I just went through two raids today and no one said a word or mumbled into their mic. We all just did our parts and won.

6 답변I completely understand! The other day i was doing crota with randoms when we got to crota they asked me if i would like to help one of them get the void kills for the thorn in a rumble match, which i replied NO! If i did it the right way twice, with a praedyths revenge and a correcrive measure camping like a champ playing control im not helping you to boost. One of them said to the host: you know what to do... so i replied no worries you dont have to kick me i will leave on my own. Other thing is sometimes in the lfg they ask for specific stuff, you need to be a titan, you need to have gjallahorn, whats your level, you need to have 3000 synthesis, im not waiting for no one to glitch heavy. So after a lot of bad moments with the lfg, i dont use it at all! Another one is 34s with a 1000 glimmer score thinking they are mlg... So yes i would like a matchmaking for everything in the game, raids, poe, nightfalls! At least i wouldn't have to deal with stupid people if i dont want to

The problem with this issue is that it's hard to see why this is such a horrible idea unless you've already raided. And if you've already raided, then chances are you're not the ones asking for this. A decent solution I propose is to have a Group Finder functionality where people make fireteams and the Group Finder will find people who are queued up and put them into those fireteams based on filters such as level, weapons, previous completions, etc. The problem is that a lot of you guys will still have problems finding and staying in those groups. This is going to sound elitist but the LFG sites work partially because the people willing to use them tend to be a different kind of player than the people who aren't. By going to these sites, you are already showing that you are more committed to getting things done than the average player. Having played MMOs I can honestly say that if the LFG functionalities were found in-game the success rates of such groups would plummet.

One word: trolls. Nothing like getting all the way to the end of the raid, nightfall, etc. just to have some guy or gal completely nuke themselves with a rocket and screw everyone else. Plus, you've also got the people like to be carried. I just love it when people afk strikes and weeklies, why not take it up a notch and afk a raid?

2 답변You're gonna get the raid completionists saying that you can't do it with matchmaking, and people who don't raid due to the pain in the ass LFG route that Bungie have left us to use saying that they want it. If bungie implement matchmaking, expect just as many salty tears as when Xur sold Gjallarhorn!

3 답변Now that the levels are going to be much higher, I say include matchmaking, but... This is the part nobody is considering: They'd have to include matchmaking for every checkpoint. What happens when half your team quits at the Gorgons? You going to start the raid over? Are new people going to want to start at Gorgons with you? Then, that presents another problem: How populated is each checkpoint actually going to be?
