Why can't Raids be Matchmaking?
[b]Edit:[/b] Why have you all decided to start responding on this post again?
As someone who struggles with getting Fireteams together, I wish Destiny would allow Raids to have a matchmaking element. It should always be an option, no matter if you already have a Fireteam or not. Nobody will join a Fireteam if you do not want to speak over mic, and I find talking with people I've never met incredibly awkward and annoying. Not that the people are annoying, just the amount of unknown factors of douchiness that go in to public chats. I hope SOMEONE agrees, because I have not been able to take part in any raids because my friend who plays Destiny is online at different times and it's hard to create a Fireteam. It also seems as though it makes you feel left out because it talks about "Playing online and communicating and making friends", to which I say that Online Friends are just pixels and a muffled voice, they are not true friends.
Edit 1: This has truly become quite the discussion! I've joined some groups now that are constantly posting stuff about raids. Matchmaking should still be an option though. Keep up the good discussion! Maybe Bungie will notice(just kidding-they don't give a shit)

I can get through barely get through strikes because of people going afk or not putting in their part, so the last thing we all need is to get match making on raids. LFG is your best bet and even then you get people who do not communicate and/or work as a team.

I used to not do raids for a while because I didn't have a group to do it with. Then I started using LFG sites. Matchmaking would be terrible for raids. Lots of AFKers, trolls, inexperienced and unprepared guardians. Communication is key, especially when running a raid the first few times. People play different roles in the raid and without people talking about what they are going to do it would be a mess. It even sounds like more of the strikes might require some communication.

3 답변IMO , it's so people will use destiny app to do so. This causes the activity rate up. They then show red bull, skittles, whom ever how "busy" it looks and they throw money at the screen to use destiny to sell their product. Just my theory

However destinylfg.com is a great site to use and the recruitment forums on here are OK too. Having these 3rd party lfg things cuts way down on quitters and trolls. Raiding can possibly take 2 hours or more. I like knowing that the people on my team at least put in a few minutes of effort to get a team. Now I raid 3+ times a week with randoms and rarely have a problem :)

Matchmaking for raids....that's a massive "NO THANKS" from me. Even when you use lfg you need to weed out the trolls. People want to do hard mode before they have done normal mode. Go to do oracles and no one has oracle disruptor weapons. Go to take death singer/crota down and no descent rockets. If you don't know how to raid you must let the rest of the party know, then they can make the decision wether they wAnt to carry you through. I generally just want to run through the raids as fast as possible. Matchmaking in strikes/weekly heroic barely works. Afkers are rife. It would be a disaster and the completion rate would be very very low if they implemented MM. If you don't want to communicate with a team to accomplish an objective, then just maybe the raiding side of this game is not for you.

Raids take communication, a certain level of skill and constant attention AFKers ruin that People joining when they're three levels lower and join "just cause they can" ruin that People who just plain suck at the game ruin that Squeakers ruin that Trolls ruin that If you see a high level activity that requires some level of skill, equipment and time and effort. You put that in correct? You make sure you're well equipped for the job So you should be able to expect that of everyone else yes? Well when you join and see blue weapons, low levels and "How do I do this?" that's not equal effort We can't even handle weekly heroic matchmaking. If anything I want them to add raid matchmaking, just so everyone can see how much of a terrible idea it is, and then they can get rid of it altogether. If you need a team, go on LFG or Recruitment, easily find a team, makes some friends, join a clan Believe me, out of my current group I only know one of them personally and I've never had a better time on a game, they may be pixels and muffled voices, but they're people all the same.

I was the same way at first. HATE talking to anonymous people. I finally broke down and bought a mic, and now with a good group of people, its the most fun I've ever had in destiny. I agree though, for the introverts/quiet crowd, there should be an optional matchmaking.

PS3? Add me up I'm on UK time but run raids all the time. As long as you can here us and you can speak if you wanna. The main is you can here what's going on. You may be right online friends arnt true friends BUT there's some cool people out there that know how to have fun.. What's the harm in rolling with these guys n calling em friends.
