Year 1 gear not ascending, easy. Though they'll probably fix that one a month or so after The Taken King launches...

If we keep getting dlc and being able to use old gear which will always be better gear we will continue to blow through content quickly and not enjoy the grind that is destiny... Im actually excited to rebuild my characters armor and weapons accordingly
