You can doubt a religion, but don't insult the people who follow it. I don't care if you don't believe in God. Just don't insult my belief, or the believers. You thought it was the other way around once. Us Christians "hating the Gays/none believers". Its not like that anymore. You guys hate [i]us[/i] it feels.
For instance, I was trying to explain to some floodian about what God [i]is[/i]. And that he loves everyone. (No God does [b]not[/b] hate women or men that are Gay. He just hates the concept. A man and a women can create life through love and passion. You can't just put 2 penis' together). And the guy just was insulting me for a belief. I was just trying to explain to him about God. But he would disregard the religion itself and target me, calling me an idiot for believing in God.
Just try and understand most of us, most my friends and own family, friends of Homosexuals and great ones at that, are respectful, reasonable, and respectable people.
All the Hate is just too much. I stand by it, defend it, but you can't insult me for doing so. Its just so oppressing. Just understand that..

I want to replace the word "oppressed" with the concept of more or less something of annoyance, or prejudice. Keeping original post though.

I really want to just clarify for those who didn't really see what I was trying to say, I don't want to make it look like I am targeting all Atheists. Just the ones who show prejudice, insult me, and insult my religion. I get insulted by many people for it and it just sucks.

8 답변Yes. It's the atheists being prejudice against the Christians. It's not like I have to hide the fact that I'm an atheist from my family so they don't disown me, and it's not like I'm shunned by most people in the south! I also comment on every religious post and start flame wars because, as an atheist, I clearly have no morals and no reason to live. The fact that I would rather everyone just get along and stop arguing about this stupid crap means NOTHING, because I do not believe in a god, and am therefore less then worthless :)

Im an atheist and im dating a catholic girl. Dunno why people feel a need to worry about such small things as religion. Care for your fellow people whether they believe in god or not. Thats all I have to say. I dont believe in a god or god (s) because I think personally the concept is dumb but I'll never tell my girlfriend that lol. I just nod at her and smile when she tries to preach something to me. Then I laugh at I later :P

As an agnostic, I respect both stances. I am open to the concept of religion, but not entirely convinced by it. I'm pretty sure that any omnipotent being would be beyond human comprehension, so it's not really logical to claim certainty to either stance IMO. God could be there, just we don't see it with our puny human brains.

When I wake up in the morning I don't set out to attack religion. If through the course of the day religion is brought up in discussion as a good idea or factually accurate, I counter it with criticism like I would with any bad ideas or inaccuracy.

And maybe your god hates homosexuality but your god doesn't exist so it's feelings are irrelevant. People hide behind religion using it as an excuse for immoral ideals. Maybe 2000 years ago people were sheep and needed a fictional book to prevent them from falling into chaos, but it is the modern age and people can actively think without using a dusty old tome to guide them.

For me it's simple. You do you and ill do me. You believe whatever shit you want, just keep it to yourself. Do that and well get along just fine. That is unless you are an asshole. The second you start trying to bible thump at me, tell me I'm not living my life the right way or trying to "save my immortal soul" I will call you on your bullshit and we won't be getting along.

I will never insult you, directly. That's not the issue. I could care less if you're as holy as Jesus or the Buddha, or if you're done druggy shooting up every night praying to god the needle doesn't have HIV. What I don't like, however, is oppression. Religion has don't that job for thousands of years before Judaism was ever recorded. Before you say something like "but that wasn't me", know that your beliefs used to be taken literally. The bible was God's word, to be believed verbatim. Atheists used to be killed, scientists threatened, gays killed--just look at the crusades. The KKK claims to be a Christian organisation, and not more that 80 years ago was that okay. I'm fine with Christians as people, but don't ask me to respect your views if your views have historically killed people.
