TTK Character Levels

Apparently it was confirmed by IGN during the DeeJ interview that you will be a level 34 in TTK if your light level is 34 is what you will start at? Did I hear that right?

Its around 4:20 I believe is when he starts talking about levels. Its also worth watching the whole thing.
According to some people you will start at lvl 20. Others say you will start at your current light level. Only time will tell.
Edit: Bungie can you please clarify if we start at are current level which is 20 or start at are current light level which is 34 or below? Some people are confused. I took it as we start at are light level 34 that would be converted to exp to level 34.
Edit: Changed the title so people don't get confused.
Edit: I'm not expecting to start at lvl 34 on any of my characters. I would prefer to start at lvl 20. Doesn't really matter to me. Gonna play the game either way.

Edit: Its been confirmed. You do not get reset to level 20. If your a light level 34, your level will be adjusted to level 34 when you boot up TTK. It was confirmed in the latest IGN Fireteam Chat.

Plant Destiny said this on Twitter today: ICYMI: Your level will not be reset. If you're 34 now, you'll be 34 in TTK, even if you remove your armor before 9/15.

9 답변Callin it right now, pay attention. We will all go back to lvl 20. BUT There will be recommended light levels for each mission, and you will be able to choose higher ones for better loot. I will bump this when it's confirmed I'm right, pretty confident

Yes it seems that your light level will be transferred to your experience to your experience when The Taken King hits. This has also been confirmed on the Gaminformer weekly show in their Destiny The Taken King segment very clearly.

1 답변Yep read it right and they talk about it around 18 mins. Basically you'll start the Taken King up on Sept 15 and what ever level you are at that time is your level for TTK. So my characters are all 34 so I'll only need 6 more levels to reach max cap.

1 답변The way I understud it was if your light level is 34 that's where you start. Or say light 28 you start there.

I honestly would rather start at level 20. Cause technically we are all level 20 but the light on our gear makes us 34. Once they change that we should be 20 again and should be required to go through all the levels.

25 답변He didn't confirm it. He sidestepped the question. When DeeJ comes out and says, you enter at level 34, I'll believe that. So what happens when I'm in the process of leveling my new iron banner gear and drop down to level 33. Does that mean that I am stuck at 33 when TTK drops just because I forgot to switch my helmet? Light level will no longer determine your real level. That has been confirmed. No one at Bungie, in any interview has ever said that you enter TTK at level 34. They are very careful with their words. It's always the half answer, "you enter at whatever level you are" which is a totally semantical argument, since your "level" can be misconstrued as your "light level".

19 답변The bigger question I have is why is there a section of idiots in this game that seem hellbent on making people believe we will be lbs 20 when there has been no evidence from any source anywhere about our level after TTK? Specifically there has been nothing to suggest we will be anything other than our current levels after TTK drops

IGN had Deej on the Fireteam Chat podcast from Gamescom this week. it was the first time I've heard a straight up "yes, you will be at lvl 34 come TTK" from anyone at Bungie. Fran definitely coerced the answer from em tho
