Edit: This is not an argument about age, but about maturity and approach to gaming. If you don't like the idea of weapons being replaced quit now and don't buy TTK. It will just happen again next year.
Genuinely interested to know if all the complaining is coming from a particular part of the community.
I would have thought the more mature gamers would care less about the loss of year one gear and welcome the changes, where as less mature (NOT IMMATURE) gamers feel otherwise.
Edit: It seems most people are welcoming of the changes. It also seems to come down to how much you've played the game.
I totally get if you've put 1500-2000 hours in and relentless grinded to get that elusive gun, but no one forced you to do it. You are an architect of your own downfall and if the changes aren't to your liking then just stop now and shelve Destiny, because it will happen again next year.

I'd be more upset if I could not keep leveling up my exotic gear as that has taken much more time and grinding to acquire and upgrade. There are a few pieces of Legendary gear that I plan to hang on to - at least until we get better replacements from TTK. They will still be useful for year one content - especially the old raids.

1 답변I'm 13 but I'm happy with all these changes. Probably because I wasn't raised as a spoiled brat

작성자: garbaaj 8/7/2015 4:12:51 PMYou outgrow everything. Imagine your life being 10 years long. Would you use the same toys when you were one as you would when you were two? No, you'd use a more mature toy. As your maturity grows so should your toys (weapons)

2 답변작성자: TREMBLE 333 8/7/2015 3:23:23 PMYes because it is sooo immature to value your beloved old toys instead of being expected to throw them away in favor of the shiny new ones. In other words being a spoiled brat is mature now? Backwards thinking is awesome.

2 답변Probably. But unfortunately I'd say the average age of these forums and of the community is 12-14, which is why there's so much darn complaining on the forums.

I came from MMOs and RPGs, I never played all that many FPS games, so I'm sure I just had a different perspective on it. To me, gear gets replaced over and over again and you shouldn't get overly attached to it. Some perks are hard to let go of, I get that, but you have to move on eventually. I fully expected VoG gear to be replaced by CE gear and that to be replaced by PoE. This is a sticking point for me though, as PoE gear and guns are pretty lame. So in HoW only, I support ascension. Otherwise I think ascension was a mistake and set a bad precedent for keeping old gear around far past its expiration date. I spent the time grinding, I have almost everything in the game and certainly everything I really wanted. I have no issue putting that stuff down for new weapons and armor in a month. I'm frankly excited to try out the new weapons, pledge myself to a foundry and get some swanky gear to use for the next cycle. Here's one part where it gets tricky for me. Raid gear (and endgame PVP gear) should be the best in the game, but I admit that ascension spoiled me a bit and I like the idea of having a fully powered up Omolon gun (as an example) be my weapon of choice. But if raid scout X has elemental damage, it will be better than anything I have by default. I suddenly find myself feeling a bit constrained by what limited arsenal can be found in the new raid. However, maybe that's what Bungie meant by being able to empower gear by sacrificing other gear. Maybe I can dismantle my new raid scout rifle and apply it's elemental damage to my Omolon gun. That would be very cool and allow for a lot of customization. Anyway, I've wandered into rambling territory. Bottom line, no, losing my year one legendaries doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I expected less upgrade paths than what we got.

1 답변작성자: KidSixXx 8/7/2015 3:48:39 PMIt doesn't matter to me because I really don't consider the time investment I have put into the game to be "hard work." Hard work is something that not even beer can make enjoyable. Drinking an IPA while playing Destiny = Fun Drinking an IPA while mowing the lawn and pulling stumps up out of my yard = Hard.

Personally, losing my legendary gear isn't that hard of a blow. Bungie seems to be making up for it with all of the new gear they're adding to the game! I'm excited to try out all the new gear. Now, if my exotics can't be upgraded, I'll be a little sad, but at the same time..... NEW EXOTICS!

1 답변작성자: ColNapalm 8/7/2015 1:53:26 AMAge and maturity aren't going to be the delineators. Income and education however will be. You cannot base a maturity model around a casino based game model anyway. The most avid players play to win but that same cohort could care less if they keep. What you should be asking is how many times is Bungie willing to split its base and it appears that they're content to retain the truly addictive personality types. I'd also disagree completely with your assessment of how many people are chiming in, and in favor of the changes. I've had an Indian research firm tracking the Bungie boards for 3 weeks now and their numbers are dropping drastically. People are disengaging from the discussion and who can blame them, the conversation is one sided. This has become a case study for me (obviously if I'm spending money tracking this mess) and I think we can all accept that Bungies first year design was folly that needed correction. It was poorly handled. The changes they've made may fix the mechanics of the game, though I doubt that in the extreme but they do nothing to address the hubris of their philosophy and the practice of their abuse. The bleeding therefore, can be expected to continue, even (and especially) if the vocal critisizm ebbs. Meanwhile, don't blame select clients or postulate that their maturity level is low. By design this game appeals more to the rabble so it is the immature that will stay committed the longest.

I'm a "older" gamer and I find Bungie despicable for the way they do business. I've been gaming for two decades but I cant remember feeling so ripped off by any other gaming company. I bought both Fallout 3 and orange box on the PS3 when it first came out.
