People keep asking the question as though it is powerful or thought provoking.
The answer is simple. Yes.
If we like a certain legendary, it resonates with us, it feels right to us, and we've made it our own, as a part of our guardian, as a part of our character, and as a part of our destiny, why would we want to abandon that?
Guns come and go, sure, but the ones we really like stick around just as much as the ones that do the work. How many of you still carry a Stranger's Rifle for keepsake? How about your old Khvostov? Bet that little beaut still has a home in quite a few of your vaults, despite how little use it may see?
The point is, Destiny is just as much a role playing game as it is a shooter. In role playing games, you play roles, to play roles, you invest in your character and immerse yourself in their lifestyle and world environment.
It's really hard to play a role, if your character's tried and true, sweat and steel, big 'ol hip iron, is gonna be rendered effectively useless to the point of being forced to utilize new weaponry.
It's understandable if our gear is gonna be put on the shelf for a while, we get that, there's new toys to try and you want us to enjoy the fruits of your labor rather than shun it away in favor of our precious blasters, but you have to realize at some point down the road, we're gonna want to nostalgia, we're gonna wanna meet back up with old friends, and those dusty guns in our vaults are gonna want to breath fresh fire, hot with velocity, once more into the skulls of enemies not keen to take them.
And when that times comes, we should hope the options are in place for us to rekindle the light in our boomsticks, and make some noise with them once more, rather than leave them on the shelves to be reminders of what we've lost.
Edit: Since so many seem to be assuming I'm just another Fate Bringer fanboy giving out free tears, let me just put that to rest and say I don't even have a Fatebringer, nor do I want one, nor do I even use or like Handcannons.
If it must be stated, my personal favorite treasured weapon I wish I could bring with me to year 2 and have it maintain it's stats, is just Jolder's Hammer. Nothing super special, nothing from a raid, nothing OP. Just my trusty ol' warhorse, Jolder's Hammer.
Edit 2: Lot of people chiming in to say 'no' or 'I disagree' or 'No we don't'. And that's fine. We're trending though. So for all your claims that I am alone in my plight, just count. On your fingers if you must. This is not some drop in the bucket minority whining about a petty concern. This is the culmination of a year's worth of work and effort being reduced to dust. And we aren't happy about it.
Edit 3: Thank you so much for the support, replies, and overall solidarity in standing with me on this issue. We may not see the results we are after, we may not even change anyone's minds, but if nothing else, we will be heard.

1 답변Agree. Why would we want to be limited to only the weapons in the latest expansion? Also, all parts of the game need to be brought forward, patrolls, story, VoG, CE, etc. The new content, should not be the only content. They are shrinking what is playable with each new expansion. This will be the doom of Destiny. By the time Bungle pulls their heads out their arses, it will be too late.

I don't, I want to use different weapons and if I feel that I absolutely have to use a weapon because it's the best weapon it becomes boring boring. Really boring. I don't care how good everyone thinks Gjallarhorn is, it's an easy button. Everything is trivialized if you have it.

작성자: AVERNL 8/6/2015 9:15:16 PMIn all seriousness, no one should have expected this to happen over ten years. It is a pipe dream and while I certainly understand the frustration, its not well founded. I suspect that eventually even exotic weapons may be phased out. At some point we'll probably be able to wear all exotic gear and then they will have to come up with something cooler than that stuff. Its game progression folks....you certainly do not have to play for the next ten years. I will be out once it goes exclusively next gen (unless they go PC as well). Also, there is nothing stopping you from keeping your favorite weapons and playing with them fairly often. You just need stronger stuff to take on the next phase of end game content, if you are all about this immersion nonsense....that should be easy to immerse into.

I also hate how people pull the "using the same weapon for 10 years is boring" is if they've verbally cornered you. This argument would probably work if exotics weren't going to be ascended ... If Bungie are going to allow Exotics to be ascended, why not legendaries? Isn't it going to be boring using the same exotics for 10 years.

I'll be keeping my messenger, felwinters and ash factory for damn sure. I don't care what they say or do, bungee will have to delete it themselves from my fault because there's definitely going to be weapons that I won't be getting rid of, cuz I know they'll pull that sneaky stunt eventually (whether it be 2 years or 5 years from now) where they'll say "oh hey, all those amazing old guns that you had, are now upgradeable for those of you that just couldn't let go" and I'll be melting faces and takin yo bitch with em when it happens.

6 답변I love how people lose their shit over the Gally nerf, but also support the weapons they grinded a year for become worthless.

2 답변I agree completely. What weapons we use should be our choice. Not Bungies. I get the MMO argument. I do. But Destiny is not 100% MMO. It's still an FPS with RPG elements. See, WoW has far more content so what weapon you use isn't as big a deal. You can craft weapons and armor as well. We can't do that here. So we become attached to certain guns. Many of us want to keep them simply because they hold meaning. And let's be honest, what guns have eclipsed the VoG Raid weapons? If Bungie wants us to use different gear, make gear that's as good as what the Gold Standard is. And then let us choose which weapons to use.

1 답변Hmm i do agree but i can understand why they are doing it. I wanted to keep on using my fatebringer but im not going to quit playing the game like some pathetic people on this forum because i cant use it in end game content. People are forgetting you can still use these old guns in patrols, PvP, low level scenarios.

2 답변Never going to shard my Fatebringer or VoC or any Raid weapons or armor. I'm going to keep my Lord High Fixer and Longbow and Matador....... But that's just for sentimental value. If one day we get the chance to ascend those old weapons, as unlikely as that is, then I'll do it. Otherwise, I'll just enjoy knowing I kept my old stuff. Looking forward to the new stuff though. Sleeper Simulant, No Time To Explain, 347 Vesta Dynasty, Fate of all Fools (fingers crossed). It's going to be fun.
