This was a rant post I made a few months back calling out the people complaining about Year 1 legendaries not ascending into Year 2 quality. It became quite popular, with many criticizing me for calling Destiny an "MMO". Whatever you think it is, it was never the intended point of the thread, but quickly became it. I shut the post down due to how each side would viciously attack each-other, and how it just got annoying after a while.
It seems I was right about some things, and wrong about others in the end. About a couple weeks after my post, the first livestream for TTK revealed Exotic Blueprints, and how not all Exotics would ascend into Year 2 (Though it still seems to be up in the air if they will ascend eventually, but until then R.I.P MIDA)
I also said it wouldn't really matter, as the legendaries would be replaced with better guns. I think I was right on that one, as I am loving the style and capability of these new guns, although I know some would probably think the opposite.
The new additions in TTK are a mixed bag for me in total, but overall I think the good outweighs the bad.
In the end, I really enjoy TTK, and I'm glad that fan attitude towards no Year 1 legendaries going in didn't destroy the community attitude. The guns are great, the story is great, the soundtrack is great, and the overall experience is great. I'm glad Bungie put all their effort into this and really delivered an experience worth the price of admission.
Hopefully this post dies.
But after the constant necrobumps over the last couple months, I doubt it.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand Bungie adds microtransactions.
In the same day.
Well.

9 답변1. This isn´t about exotics. It´s about legendaries. Stop changing the subject. You use mostly legendaries, but only one exotic at a time. 2. Irrelevant. Even in Crucible I want to be using max level guns because there´s content like Iron Banner and Trials. I want to be used to a certain weapon and be doing well with it. Having to switch to some other weapon that I personally may not enjoy (NOT because of it not being powerful enough, but simply because I like the feeling of my trusty old gun) for high level Crucible content sucks. 3. Destiny isn´t an MMO. It has MMO-like elements. Deal with it. 4. Stop trying to give the "virtual stuff is unimportant" argument. You just made a lengthy post complaining about people in a video game that you don´t evne know. Any other person wouldn´t care, yet you do. The same way we care about guns that we like. 5. No, expecting this to change is actually a GREAT idea. Bungie has been listening on the forums and the have introduced a lot of things into the game because WE weren´t happy. Let me just point out the collector´s edition. Yeah people were saying the same..."complaining won´t help you"....well shit. They were wrong. Even the weekly update encourages us to talk about the upcoming stuff and share what we think about it 6 and 7... DESTINY IS NOT AN MMO. You say it´s not the point of your thread yet almost a third of your arguments is based on you assuming that Destiny is an MMO. Again, it is not. You saying that it is one even if devs think it´s not? Give me a break. There are countless of reasons why Destiny isn´t an MMO at heart. Just start with how many people can play together in one world instance and compare Destiny with WoW....it´s tiny, not massive. In game chat is common in MMOs, no MMOs that I´m aware of have such a varied weapon upgrading progression etc. Again...NOT an MMO. Shared world shooter with MMO-like elements. 8. No. Expecting to throw away one year worth of content is stupid. People should be able to use whatever they want, not be forced to use certain gear. That´s the whole point why bungie introduced etheric light, to give us more variety in weapons and armor. Now that argument is somehow mute in favor or "new stuff coming"? Please. There is no reason not to have old and new stuff expect the one coming in 9 which is... 9. There is no reason not to use new guns if they are GOOD. With HOW you can see that people will not use new guns if they suck. Look at Trials weapons like Messenger or Scholar, guns like Shadow of Veils, Hopscotch Pilgrim, Matador/Party Crasher, Her Benevolence etc. People will use new weapons even if the old ones are available IF THE NEW ONES ARE GOOD. The reason people were using Fatebringer in PvE all the time is because PvE gear has absolutely failed in HOW. So Bungie should work on exciting new weapons that make us WANT to use them instead of forcing us to use them by removing old ones. 10. Oh yes there are new things that are absoutely cool in TTK and I´m really looking forward to it. But if there is something the community is really not happy about our opinion should be said. There´s no reason why Destiny shouldn´t improve in TTK even more than it´s supposed to. Criticism is good even if the content is good, because if there´s room to improve it can be used.

1 답변Every major MMO does not remove old gear... Just adds new better gear. Destiny is not a MMO, unless you were born after year 2000, cause anyone born after has not experienced a MMO.

12 답변Destiny is an MMO. So many crybaby nerds can't see the truth through their salty tears. The only evidence I can see that it's not an MMO is the lack of trade and exchangeable commodities. MMOs don't need an economy to persist as MMOs.
