• 8 missions,..2 or 3 more than with how. Expect rehashed areas, AS USUAL per Bungie's game design dilemma
• A whopping ONE new area, with infinite re playability (jokes)
• five strikes is going to be completed in ONE day.
And for the love of god, NOW WE HAVE TO LEVEL THE GUN SHOP OWNER. That is not gameplay., that is supreme BS. Well he didnt do squat past lv 10 anyways)
a few weeks from launch, and everyone still has questions.
Im sorry, but the bun-gee team are arguably the biggest a-holes on the planet. they\ are making a mockery of gamers.

What's wrong with adding use to the Gunsmith? After level 10, he does nothing, as you said. At least now he might be a little more useful for people playing this game so long after launch. Here's where the pricing problem is partially coming from though: PvP maps. Yeah, Destiny's a wonderfully ambitious "Shared World Shooter" and everyone focuses on the more social aspects overall. But in the end, it's an FPS title with an online Multiplayer contingent that's being supported. Activision (the guys setting the prices for all the DLCs) has plenty of experience selling DLC for FPS games. Just look at CoD. $15 a pop for 3 maps, more or less the FPS industry standard. Well TTK is coming out with 8 new maps. At FPS standard pricing, that's about $40 on it's own (perhaps $30, if we round up and say four maps per map pack). Add in some Strikes, a Raid, some new missions, a new area, new subclasses and more? More than justified for a standard FPS. The problem is that Destiny isn't viewed by the community as a standard FPS (nor should it be, IMO). So we see these prices as egregious, because we're comparing them to other types of games (which Destiny doesn't quite fit the full billing of either) and DLCs that spring from there. Activision treats Destiny like a CoD game with a little extra on the side, we treat it like [insert however you're comparing Destiny here]. But the truth is somewhere in the middle. Perhaps Activision will take a page out of 343 Industries' book and mix up the DLC structure for Destiny, seeing how the goodwill of free MP maps for days affects the Halo community, and charging more reasonable prices to keep Destiny players happy with the amount of PvE-centric DLC they get alongside their free map packs. That's probably incredibly high hopes for Activision, but crazy things happen sometimes.

32 답변The thing everyone forgets about TTK is it's price value compared to vanilla, not TDB or HoW. $40 is two thirds of $60 Vanilla destiny: 4 worlds, about 5 story missions per world, total of 20 story missions (more or less), 1 strike per world (not counting winter's run wasn't there at launch) 4 total strikes, not counting PS4 exclusives TTK: 1 new world, 8 story missions total, 1 new strike, 3 "Re-Imagined" strikes (that's pr terminology for re-hashed by the way). Let's do the math: 1 world is not 2/3rds of 4 worlds 8 story missions is not 2/3rds of 20 story missions 1 strike is not 2/3rds of 4 strikes Bungie's new dlc is not worth $40, maybe $20. Maybe.

1 답변The "Story missions" include the class specific missions to unlock your 3rd subclass. So it's actually 2 less story missions than you are referencing in your post. Assuming people, like myself, run three of the same class.

3 답변If you think 40 bucks for that is bad, then elsewhere have it worse. Here in UK they are asking for £39.99 which is around 60 bucks for this.... And we all know idiots who care not of value will buy it anyway and so bungie will change nothing about the price until another dlc comes or a market sale we can take advantage of to get a fair price. For us this SHOULD be priced at £28 if 40 bucks in US but if it is too much even there then it should be less, but given marketing I expect possibly minimum of £25 or maybe 30 bucks. That sounds bearable fair...and hope we find it worth the money in the end.

No, you get to gain rep with the Gunsmith. You have the opportunity to take on several quests for gear and guns. The way you talk you sound like you are owed. As if Bungie jacked you and yanked $40 out of your wallet. "But I was told this when I bought Destiny and it definitely wasn't that at all!" And you still threw money at them. Funny thing is you will still throw your money. "I'm gonna keep buying your stuff until you change the way I want you to be." What'd be funnier to see is all the people still playing without buying Taken King. I don't get this pouting over price vs content when the content isn't even out to experience yet. You don't even know if it's the same-old same-old stuff yet. But you're predetermined to believe it doesn't match the cost regardless. The only thing I'm pissed off about over price is the lack of thought and consideration to international customers. $40 does not equal £40. And I can't believe they got by Gamescom in Europe unscathed by that. Still unaddressed to this day. That's the only issue I have with price!

Bungie-vision is done taking my money. After playing HoW for a week or so I have lost hope for destiny. This dlc will be the same zones , same enemies, and as usual, NPCs I don't give a damn about. I'm still kinda lost about what the lore is behind destiny.

1 답변Is The Taken King worth $40? Bungie hasn't been clear about what they are doing with Year 2, so let me explain it as best I can. All of the new missions, strikes, crucible maps, the new raid, public events on the Dreadnought, and TTK only armor and weapons are reserved for people who purchase The Taken King. This is like the premium tier for year 2. The 2.0 update with its new quest system, weapon infusion, Year 2 versions of exotics, gunsmith leveling, and new weapons and armor go into effect whether or not you buy The Taken King. Basically, all players benefit from the 2.0 update whether they buy the DLC or not. This is like the freemium tier for Year 2 except that you have to buy the base game so it's not really free. The not so freemium tier will also have less content in Year 2 than Year 1. Bungie says you need to defeat Oryx to play the daily and weekly challenges in Year 2, which means no more daily missions, Nightfall strikes, weekly heroic strikes, or daily PvP playlists for vanilla "Destiny". Bungie should really clarify this, because if true, anyone who doesn't buy The Taken King will probably quit "Destiny" players forever. As a purchasing decision, should you include the 2.0 update with the all of the new content in The Taken King? Yes, you should. Bungie isn't working on improving vanilla "Destiny" for free, and we players are better served when a developer has as incentive to improve their product. For example, I pay for Evernote because I like the freemium features and I also want the premium features. Evernote is a huge success. I loved Google Reader enough to pay for it, but there was no way to pay for it. Google pulled the plug because Google Reader had no way of making money. So if The Taken King has a good reception, I will eventually buy it because of all the content it offers and all of the improvements in the 2.0 update. You may wonder why I don't just pre-order The Taken King now. For now, The Taken King looks like over-priced DLC and I won't pay for over-priced DLC that will make all of my Year 1 gear obsolete. #saveourexotics You see, I hate grinding for weapons especially when I finally have all the weapons I like. That's a personal issue of mine. If you enjoy grinding, then The Taken King will have plenty of grinding for you. I still recommend waiting for reviews before buying The Taken King because $40 is a lot of money for a DLC.

작성자: XCape=[God] 9/1/2015 2:07:45 AMLook I can kinda agree and disagree with things like fook sony and thier exclusives it robs the whole player base if content is locked to one particular platform even though its a mutli platform game i scream horse sh*t on that. As for the taken king as a whole from what ive seen so far they've done it again and rehashed the sh*t out of everything from weapons and armor all the same just slight differences between them and perk changes but look at all the faction sh@t now. Am i right ?? Also the sub classes are NOT NEW in no way the have been DLC (disc locked content ) from the beginning as the third slot for them has been with your character since day 1 or even earlier alpha and beta players would know? So im not holding my breath its going to be short lived and btw i dont appreciate having all my weapons redundant when 9/15 comes and gjallarhorn nerfed when i only just grinded it out b4 everyone xurned it. And worst of all its not going through to year two might as well shove two diks up there just to double the shafting we all are getting. If sh*t is covered in rainbow sprinkles its still smells like shit and bet it tastes like it too. If anyone believes this is the best ever you my friend are misguided and easily manipulated.

4 답변From looking at your play time (20 days total) it seems that if you were to pay per hour you played (if you got the $100 in expansions and game) you would have spent $0.21 an hour. From what I see that is a very good price for entertainment since movies cost $9 per person for maybe a three hour film. Better yet a $65 trip to Six flags including gas and parking, where you get maybe 4 minutes of rides for every hour of waiting in lines. If $40 for a new add on equals more fun and 10 days more worth of game play then who cares? If you don't enjoy a game then don't play but if you do then don't complain. Just put things into perspective.
