Totally agree. Its not that people DIDN'T want HoW legendaries because their old legendaries were much better. People didn't want HoW legendaries cause they almost all suck.

Agreed. Even if I was happy with the 2.0 nerfs and the loss of year one weapons what possible reason could I have to play until TTK drops?

I don't have faith they can make better weapons because they have shown thus far they can't. How can I get excited for what is coming when everything has been a disappointment thus far

So, you would prefer to use the same weapons for the next 10 years? I wouldn't. I want to have things to go after and am excited for the new weapons. In WOW, every expansion brought more powerful gear and weapons. Some people were upset about it, but others were excited to have new things to go after. Upon reading yesterday's news, I got home and pre ordered. I am excited for the new hunt.

I wouldn't be certain that they will be useless just yet.

Heritage, Diversity, More Choices, Expanding and Weapons are Central to the Destiny experience. This is their words, so what is today's news all about. It should be the choice of the individual if they want to retire old weapon's for new ones. Why do people bother what other's want to keep? If you want to dismantle old gear for new stuff you won't have any complaints from anyone. The people using this B.S 10 years with one weapon is boring. Well that is your choice again you don't need to do it. You don't see all the people wanting to keep their old gear saying please don't add new gear, do you? This would be idiotic. We all want new exciting weapon's this is down to Bungie the creators to make weapon's appealing. This doesn't mean better than VoG or TDB weapons. What negatives does allowing old gear to stay have on anyone?. Even if I have all my old gear I will still seek the newest stuff because it could be my new favourite thing. This is how I see it if you have the choice then it's down to the player. They are removing content and taking away from the game as a whole and people seem blinded by all the positive news surrounding TTK. I really want to stay with Destiny and help my clan progress thru the year's of adventure that will come. I'm sorry but this has me feeling like my journey is over, it was great while it lasted and I have lots of great memories. Enjoy TTK everyone and remember lots of people will not because they disagree with this decision.

Y'know what sums it all up for me? The broken state of the PvP. It's practically unplayable. Everyone knows it. But Bungie have left it to rot for 6 months because they're too busy working on DLC than to actually fix the game we paid for. Day one player, sick of being treated as a beta tester and a cash cow.

As others have said in more eloquent manners, the occasional gear-reset is kind of necessary for an MMO-esque game to remain "Fresh." The problem isn't necessarily the fact that the weapons are going to become obsolete, but the fact that Bungie's been flip-flopping the decision and not providing alternatives of an equivalent caliber. From Vanilla to The Dark Below, there was no way to upgrade Legendary weapons, only exotics got that privilege, but then House of Wolves comes along and they tell us to grind for all this Etheric Light to ascend our favorite weapons and armors, and everybody got super excited and did just that. However, with the release of this new info, the players are feeling jipped because this decision basically invalidates all the time and effort spent going back through the VoG and Crota's end to try and get a hold of the Raid weapons and ascend them for use in PvE or PvP. This includes PoE and ToO weapons and armors as well. All of it has gone from "preparing for the future" to absolutely pointless. Now, this wouldn't necessarily be a problem if we knew that the weapons that are soon to replace our old favorites would be just as good or better than their current counterparts, but if the last two expansions have been any indicator (Black Hammer excluded) Bungie's concept of improvement is awfully backwards. VoG weapons are the top-tier because they have a full perk set with the addition of raid-specific perks, as well as some perks and perk combos that are impossible to reforge on current weapons . TDB gear came close, but instead of adding a Raid-specific perk, replaced a standard perk, which lowered overall weapon quality. HoW gear is laughable at best. The Queen's weapons are re-skinned versions of Legendaries you can pick up anywhere, while PoE gear has fallen victim to the same TDB perk model, with the added insult of dreg/shank burns on Heavies and Special weapons. Personally, I'm rather excited for the new weapons. I like the way they've developed specific models, controls, and customization options for the various weapon manufacturers. Immersion factor off the charts in comparison to previous weapons. My biggest issue is in feeling like my time was and will continue to be wasted. If my armor and weapons won't follow me, what reason do I have to continue levelling it up and ascending gear that's not going to be relevant in the coming months? What am I supposed to do now, grind for Motes of light and Strange Coins? Progression is good, but creating the illusion of progression by systematically setting us back and forcing us to repeat the grind is not.

Re read the article. ... I thought what u did at first too but it says there will be ways to upgrade gun dmgs..... soo I assume that includes year 1.... I think they want u to exp new weapons but if u want ur old ones u can eventually rank them up. I do hope that new weapons are better than year 1 tho...

The way all the nerfs are going, weak creep is going to be a massive problem and when i come back in 10 years with my 3 lv 34's gally and fatebringer people are going to be wow who the -blam!- are these day one players, these guys are so OP. We will literally be ledgend lol Wtf Is a ghorn?
