Does this count as Network manipulation?
So I... *cough cough* my friend has had terrible connection for the longest time because his family is streaming Netflix from dawn till 3am. He had this idea to restrict usage to the internet from all other sources by changing the QoS setting for his modem. Basically he set High priority for his Xbone while nerfing his family's connection speed to that of Dial-up. Because he has manipulated his own network to give himself the highest speed on his console, does that violate the terms of use and can he get banned for network manipulation?

1 답변I'm no expert but I'd say no. To me, all he's doing is optimizing his modem for his xbox. There's no extra equipment that could hurt some other player and this seems no different than if someone had bought a modem and internet plan exclusively for their xbox. Worst case scenario, he typed the wrong value somewhere and made his own connection worse by accident.

No, not in the way that would give you an advantage over other players. It is "network manipulation" by the definition of the words alone, but not something covered under the "banner" of cheating. I am not a bungie employee or in any way affiliated with the mentors or moderation team. Just figured I'd offer my experience to help you out instead of waiting on over-worked volunteers or employees.
