Did anyone else 20+ realize that the teenagers and kids that play this think that we are super strange for playing video games after turning 21 or adult age?
Heard 3 kids discussing it during a VoG raid

What I'm hating are these kids believing they know it all, done it all, or want everything handed to them. Try starting over from scratch each time you burned through your 3 freaking lives, just to put your initials at the top of the leader board. Hanging at the arcade a few hours and doing chores for the quarters to spend. New game came out you had 2 options. 1. Play it. 2. Ignore it. If you bitched about it being hard or unfair you got chased out. There were no patches, well there were new chips I guess, later. You played your 2600 until your hands cramped so bad they looked like claws, and square pixels looked freaking awesome. Friends gathered around and took turns, no interwebs. It was fun, damn fun. Activision (old Activision) had some of the best damn games. River Raid anyone? We aren't weird. We started this mess, and we will damn well see it through. Just hope when you cross beyond the 20's & 30's you have something like this you've enjoyed your whole life. I've watched games grow. From pixelated dragons that looked like big ass ducks to the pretty geometric scenes and characters you see today. It's nice. No, its more than that. It's a hell of a lot of fun at times, and I'm proud to be in my...well older and a gamer.

I've been playing games since before they were even a glimmer in their parents eye and I'll be playing them until I physically can't do so. Had some kid say his mom said that I shouldn't be playing video games at my age. I asked if his parents were divorced. Of course it was a yes. So my reply, "That's why they're divorced. Your mom is a complete idiot and her looks must've faded."

I'm 24. Married with a kid. And I'll play video games with these young whipper snappers for the rest of my life. I'll be on there talking about the old days of dial up Internet and having to hold an actual controller to play.

I'm 47 and have played about everything since the days when I had to stand on a milk crate to reach the flipper buttons on old pinball machines before there were video games. In the late 70's we hunched over little hand held games with red blips for football/basketball/etc, some early pong type "consoles" came out that could be hooked to TV's - hard to describe what a huge deal that was and now I've got several infinitely more advanced versions on my phone... Dragging big CRT TV's around in the 80's to gather up on snowy Saturday's to play our various consoles and getting serious hand cramps or even blisters from some of the horrible controllers that were made. Rolls of quarters blown on games with no checkpoints, saves, continue, etc... just a note card taped on the machine with the high scorer's name and score. 90's things really took off for home console/pc gaming and have just gotten better ever since I have two teenagers - boy version is my main fireteam member and long-time Halo tail-gunner - mancave is practically a museum of video gaming :-)

작성자: BLuRR 203 7/29/2015 3:45:40 PMI'm 34 so old enough. I'm not worried, especially considering how under-educated, and poorly parented so many kids are nowadays. All you have to do is look at the typical forum douchebaggery on display here on a DAILY basis with the 500 anti-thorn crybaby posts, to crybabies ranting about "skolas is too hard, Thorn is too hard to combat, Last word is too hard", pretty much explains why as an older gamer I almost laugh about kids thinking we're out of our league and shouldn't be playing games. We created this shit....from back in the day on Atari and the original NES, playing games with graphics that looked like blocky turds made out of lego bricks. Oh well, you can't TRULY appreciate games and be a real gamer without having experienced the classics, and having the ability to see just how far we've come. The poor "give me now" attitude and lacking ability in our youth to handle and overcome anything of moderate difficulty is likely due to them not having to sit in front of a GIANT 13 inch screen and play Contra for hours on end with only 3 lives. Overcoming challenges like that made us well prepared for adult life. Now they just come to the forums and cry like freaking bitches about thorn and bungie nerfs hand cannons in general to appease the little pathetic pussies.

Everybody does that... Right?... No?... Okay EDIT: yeah just keep hating on my comment... Keep wasting your time folks... If you are saying that you are an adult and don't give a shit about me so why are you commenting? Nothing to do right? EDIT 2: you guys are killing me, I'm laughing hardly about your serious comments

Started with a Sinclair ZX48k Spectrum and went through the entire evolution from there. Reflxes are slower in PVP than I would like but PVE no problem. Our difference was we also spent alot of time playing sports etc.

1 답변작성자: SGT 12XU 7/29/2015 12:47:48 AMWell, I played on a TI-99/4A computer and an Atari 2600. Never cared for ColecoVision. Kid I knew had an Intellivision setup. Later on it was a Commodore 64 / VIC-20 with mainly words and no graphics. Then the original Nintendo dropped and that was insane. We also had Arcades back then (Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Space Invaders, Dig Dug, Astroids, Centipede, etc.). Before that there were Pinball machines. For us older guys, I recommend the TV series "Halt and Catch Fire" on the AMC channel. Start at the beginning. So, as an older guy I was part of the birth of electronic gaming when growing up and have watched it mature over 35 years. It was fun then and it's even better now. Technology improvements pave the way for more realistic and immersive gaming experiences. Movies are the same in that regard. Nothing wrong with escaping reality in a game. Older people usually have more stress in life than younger kids, due to more responsibility and obligations (wife, kids, mortgage, cars, career).
