Why do Raids on Normal?
I just don't see the point of why a bunch of lvl 34s will run Atheon and Crota on normal mode
Update: This is the first post I've ever had that blew up so that's exciting. Unfortunately a lot of people thought I was being arrogant and to be fair I can see why. Let me explain, I got mythoclast and beat Crota hard for the first time ever within the last week and it was great. However a lot of people whenever I join their fireteam at 5/6 all hyped I get so disappointed when it's on normal and it gets to the point where it's very frustrating and I just leave them now. I have yet to get the crux of Crota and I've been wanting Necrochasm ever since I found out it was arc and I haven't found a fireteam doing hard yet but within that time I found several doing normal so I thought I'd make this post and see why. Thank you everyone for replying and to those who called me out on my own arrogance I apologize.
Reasons that have been explained to me so far:
-Black Hammer
-Flawless Raider
-Fun
-Black Hammer
-Teaching and practice for hard mode
-On Crota normal mode apparently has a better if not the only (mixed responses) drop rates for special and heavy weapons aka BLACK HAMMER
-Better chances at an exotic

1 답변I like running with new raiders, hearing how excited they are and listen to them freak out about weapons and stuff, brings back memories and partly brings back the feeling of my first raids, It's fun!

13 답변작성자: Burjibees 7/21/2015 8:10:44 PMYou can open the chest in the gorgons labrynth, the exotic chest, on normal and hard. That's 6 chances at exotics for people who need exotics. Open it on normal, then run hard and open it again. Do this on all 3 characters. Many people don't believe me when I tell them this but it's how I farmed for gjallarhorn an low and behold I have a gjallarhorn. Give it a try if you're skeptical.

2 답변Yes. The only way to get Special/Heavy from Crota is Normal. Hard only drops the primaries. They screwed this up at the beginning (Hard should include the Normal drops, like VoG or CE except for Crota) and have never bothered to fix it. Shocking. I know.

5 답변I've been playing Destiny for only 3 or 4 months now and I still haven't done any raids yet since I don't have any friends on the Xbox One & I'm incredibly shy to really reach out to the community lol My highest lvl character so far is my lvl 31 Warlock & my 2nd character is a lvl 30 Hunter, so I will, if I ever do a raid, I will have to do it on normal to see how VOG & Crota work out. But by reading a few of the comments, it might be wise to check out a few videos of these raids so I won't be completely lost haha xD

Doing CE on normal is easy to explain: different loot tables. Hard gives primary weapons, normal gives secondary and heavy. Doing VOG on normal isn't as useful loot- wise. But if you haven't ever done the raid before, you better be running it on normal a few times. Just because you are a high enough level doesn't mean you should jump right into hard.

2 답변Well for VoG if you're chasing after a specific piece of armor, like raid boots (like I am... why did I dismantle them?) It's better to run it on Normal and then Hard, because you get a smaller loot pool on the Normal run, and therefore a slightly better chance of getting that exact piece that you want.
