Absolutely. It would be fantastic if bungie designed new guns for the Taken King that made us all want to use them. Unfortunately the fact that they feel the need to nerf the current best guns right before the TTK launch is a pretty clear indicator that that isn't going to happen.

The nerf is happening because pvp will be the same even after the patch at least for a week or so. We also don't know how long it will be between the patch and the taken king. I think (being optimistic here) that they are doing that to prepare us for the mindset we will need to have for how we use the weapons. So we dont over depend on certain weapons

Not necessarily, I think a powerful gun id necessary, but over powered is what they want to avoid. Personally I woulf love to see interesting takes on weapons that have cool abilities like bad juju. I do think that not enough guns like that are available. No reload and extra super energy. Not saying they should be like bad juju but to introduce weapons that have those really awesome perks that make that weapon useful for enemies and what not. Haha of course this is wishful thinking =p

Sure, but you chose an original weapon. That's the problem. The original exotics and VOG raid weapons are the best weapons in the game. The new weapons brought in every expansion since have gotten progressively worse. And a big time nerf of original guns right before launch of the next expansion sure hints that nothing has changed in that regard

I agree and disagree, I find that most weapons just haven't changed period. I think it is because of the weapon archetype. For me voc and the fang are the same, same with oversoul and timepiece. Its just that one is full auto and the other isnt on both fronts ha. I think that there should be far more variations of the same weapon to add diversity as opposed to just one. So in that regard, I dont think theyve gottej worse, just stagnated and one has better perks than the other. Which to me isnt better, just more convenient. If that makes any sense. Also, didnt voc have firefly?
