Not enough ammo

I've got the other two and I really only use the Lord of Wolves. The bow charge time and range just don't do it for me, but it's fun to hip fire. If I get another Cipher I'll probably just discard it because I really haven't heard a lot of good things about dregs promise and I just can't see myself using an exotic sidearm doesn't really fit my play style.

Well lemme give you the short version Vestian Dynasty = legendary Dregs Promise = exotic Vestian Dynasty + Ghorn = Win Not possible to use Greg's Promise and ghorn.

Because it should have been a primary. I LOVE running Universal Remote with Vestian Dynasty, it would have been great to run Dreg's Promise with a legendary shottie of your choosing.

Last I checked there is no difference between the perks on any Dreg's Promise so it can't have "the right weapon perks." The only armor perks that would affect it would be special weapon loader and the one that lets you carry more ammo for special weapons because there are no sidearm specific armor perks. The main problem with Dreg's Promise is that it's shots have travel time. It also has a weird hitbox with its shots that causes them not to register sometimes. Literally any other exotic secondary kills enemies faster and more reliably than Dreg's Promise. (with the exception of Queenbreaker's Bow) Also, the maximum magazine size of Dreg's Promise is 21. It fires three shots with one trigger pull so in reality it's 7 shots per magazine. Vestian Dynasty's is 15. Vestian Dynasty also does not take up an exotic slot allowing for a Exotic Primary of Heavy to be used. In regards to PvP the meta right now is dominated by exotic Primaries which is why you almost never see this gun being used. The meta also gimps Sidearms in general. They're meant to be used for fast damage against a foe that's rushing you. For example a shotgunner sprinting towards you. However, with the way shotguns are now they can get off a shot that kills you from a ridiculous range. Sidearms do t have the best range and as a result of that along with the travel time for shots you usually end up dead before being able to finish off the opponent. I honestly love the idea of the Sidearm class by right now the only Exotic sidearm is just not viable in that many situations. Fun to use but not viable.

It can't take down a level 24 yellow knight (fist of Crota) in one clip (level 34 guardian). Maybe it can in theory if you hit all head shots but with its accuracy that's not practicable. Given a blue shotgun would only take about 3-4 shots (about half a clip) that is why I don't like it. It needs (and sidearms generally) at least the buff pulse rifles got previously. It's not as underpowered as shotguns used to be, but as an exotic secondary it really ought to be dropping any non boss enemy under level 30 in one clip or less.

Because it's a sidearm lol no other reason needed.

Because vestian dynasty is practically the same thing an it doesn't have travel time like Greg's promise does. The ricochet perk is also unreliable.

Vestian dynasty is better. It's also a legendary that doesn't take your exotic slot. Case closed.
