This was in no way a unique way to honor fans. Nothing done today was exclusive. You can watch that 30 minute mashup anytime... If you want to.... And that emblem?... You have until September to complete. Plus... I have the beta testing emblem and a Vanquisher from Vanilla Destiny. Nothing was special to the fans on this day.
For those not around in the Halo days, bungie used to host a playlist on halo where you got to play the developers in matchmaking, and if you won you got an exclusive armor set called recon completely unobtainable otherwise. They gave out flaming helmet pieces in halo reach permanently to players who signed in on bungie day. They gave flaming helmets to players in halo 3 on bungie day years ago. They gave us a free Halo multiplayer map before also on Bungie day.
This...? You know what I honestly think?
This... "road to triumph"...? It's an emblem. An emblem. Not only that, it's a marketing scheme. We crave what is exclusive, so everyone is going to want to get this emblem ... (which truly anyone can get) ... but to get this emblem Bungie is making you play the game the way they want you to and as long as they want you to.
It's to keep you playing until the taken king. They want you to play certain ways, and as long as they want. That's all it is.
Instead of being honored, we're just being given an emblem anyone can get for the next 3 months, if we play as much as they decide us to play, and grind the content they want us to grind. PvP. PvE. Public events. Golden chests. Whatever you don't like, you're doing it. Because bungie is giving out an emblem. And to bungie, whether you were a "year one" guardian or not, you don't deserve what they are "graciously" giving you unless you do all of what they want.
Shame. On. You. Bungie.
Edit: It's not about free stuff. It's about making memories, and honestly, I applaud the community playdates that community members are setting up. I somehow just wish Bungie had a Bungie Bounty today (they for some reason stopped that?) and played with the community much like how they did in Halo days. They also gave out these flaming helmets to get people playing on Bungie day. It encouraged the players to get online and have fun. I have my film clips playing big team battle with my buddies, speeding in a warthog with a flaming helmet, racing getting shot down by an enemy warthog chasing us with the flag carrier in the passenger seat as our team mate charges up the spartan laser, just to make the speedy getaway needed. Do you remember those days? I do. This, and the past couple... I sadly don't. Play with us Bungie.

작성자: The 7th fall 8/29/2015 8:24:07 AMA lot of the former Bungie is either with 343 Industries, fired mid Destiny making or left the Destiny project right before release... *sigh* I very rarely played HALO online, hell I never bothered to get an account on here, but those days were fun, and the online events and player vs Dev was fun! And they weren't crappy like the ones that have played during PvP Bungie bounties on Destiny... oh my god I was stunned when I saw Deej play the first time in a Bungie bounty, and was mopped so easily, even other Devs in other PvP bounties were just... pfft 'nuff said. I know this is an old topic, but this is what made Bungie Bungie: Old ways were awesome and interactive, now its just about the next cash grab and overhype... I hope Bungie lightens up and plays their game, interact and host better events with the community more often, else this game won't have much personality or a touch of love to remember from the Devs.

9 답변작성자: Reznyk 7/8/2015 1:41:13 AMAgree with you...it's not about getting free stuff, it's the lighthearted Bungie that I miss. It's not about entitlement, it's about the Vidmaster challenge. It's about having all your buddies online playing. It's the joking with the community that I miss, because all I'm getting now is patronizing. It's about how Bungie is now constantly being at odds with their player base. Nerfing the loot cave. No matchmaking. The constant patronizing talk telling us what we should like and how we should play a game. No custom playlists. No dedicated servers for multiplayer in 2015. The Engram debacle. The DLC debacle. The ravenous, mean forums where people are called idiots and scrubs for not wanting to use DestinyLFG sites or not having Ghorn. It doesn't feel like Bungie Day because Bungie isn't acting like Bungie. I still have my flaming helmet on Halo Reach and wear it with pride. But what I really want on Bungie day is Bungie back. They constantly make decisions that don't line up with the hearts of their players and then it's like they don't understand when we don't accept their vision of what they think we should be doing. Like to think that on Bungie day, which is a customer appreciation day, we're getting a list of stuff to do in order to obtain a prize. It's not Bungie-like. And I've been with them since Marathon. That's why this day is a disappointment.

1 답변As some who plays pvp all the time , the reward for bothering to find all the gold chests and do the public events is a shitty emblem ? No thanks. Also what day is the adamant tourney this month anatamize?

From what you say, it definitely doesn't compare to previous bungie days, and definitely it's encouraged players to do things they might otherwise not have. For my part, I don't think I would have done skolas were it not for the emblem. I had fun with the guys I played through it with, but I'm absolutely not interested in doing it again, took us a long time.

3 답변작성자: CeraBiH007 7/11/2015 7:12:09 AMSo after watching this Year One Video, my conclusion is that this video has absolutely nothing to do with the players that made this game happen. It doesn't show anything about players that spent so many hours of grinding, same mission and same strikes over and over again, just to be disappointed at the end. It doesn't show the flaws of the game like no story, worst reward system, broken PvP, no matchmaking and many more. It doesn't show nothing of Community which is 7/7 day. What about Europe, Asian etc. players. Now it does show that Bungie is in love with them self and their game. It also shows all the You Tubers that kiss Bungies ass and who sold them self to Bungie for few handouts. 20 million registered players but you show most annoying and biggest douches on Youtube. No not us, the ones that spend late nights doing the raids, strikes, NF and so on. Calling off work, calling in sick, skipping school, ignoring grilfriends, boyfriends, wifes and husbands. Us that keep coming back no natter how many times we get slapped in the face by RNG or Bungie. No not us we are not worthy, because we do have lifes and not a You Tube channel or twitch. So my fellow Guardians, we know we are the true ones and that we made our Legend the hard way. From me to all of you that fell the same way. May RNGesus be with you. Fell free to reply

9 답변OP is idiot. No. The emblem is not them making you play how they want you to play. The emblem, as they called it is "Legendary Status" ie Complete everything the game has to offer. And NO not ANYONE can get the emblem. All you people thinking anyone can are complete idiots. Remember the last statistics shown for raids? Only about %19 of people Have done a raid. And that doesnt even tell us how many of those have done a Hard raid. And you also forget all the people who havent done Skolas or cant because not Every gamer out there is good. If anythings going to stop most players from getting the emblem, its the Skolas part. Couldnt i sit here and say the same for Halo? They made it so you have to win them in multiplayer for Recon? Wouldnt that be "Them making you play how they want you to?"

i agree if you are a year one then it should not be limited to not 1st dayers but the first few months fine and they should not be any grinding involved in a celebration on that day it should be a reward for sticking with the game. also you have to spend money and that is how they are getting money from people buying the DLC's to complete the stupid quest for a crappy emblem people will remove two weeks later as most players have it.
-
Agreed.. So means most non day one players (no offence) will be able to get it (assuming that bungie is doing this with the mindset to reward day one players) if its just for bungie day, kinda a let down compared to the rewards in halo.. Yes shouldn't compare but I thought bungie day is kinda a big deal and even there is need to grind for the rewards these rewards should be something good rather then an emblem...

1 답변Ya I'm getting the emblem but that's an anticlimactic reward at best. I don't think an exclusive armor set would have been too much trouble to ask for. Hell even a cloak, sash, and exclusive band would be nice.

Destiny is my very first game made by bungie. And when I heard about this "bungie day" I was really excited. Then I found out you get an emblem. I was pretty okay with that, but then I found out we get them in September. I cri evrytiem.
