I saw the Red Bull logos you get on your gear. So not only are we getting IN GAME ADVERTS. People are actually PAYING to help that company FREELY ADVERTISE in the game now? WTF is this seriously.
What the -blam!- is next, Dorito logos, Mountain Dew, AT&T, Taco Bell?
Is it me or people don't have a problem with this bullshit IN GAME Advertisement.
This literally is people PAYING to freely advertise for a company within the game as in I GIVE YOU MONEY and then I ADVERTISE FOR YOU. You actualy SPEND MONEY to get the Red Bull thing, just to advertise that logo in the game. WOW
If this is the case the game SHOULD COST LESS since we are being advertised crap.

It would honestly be -blam!-ing sweet if they made it canonical that Red Bull survived the collapse and shifted gears from energy drinks and sports sponsorship's to weapons and armor manufacturer. But yeah I can see why that might be aggravating to see this sort of thing in the game, I personally don't have an issue with advertising in games or other forms of media but there are more subtle ways to do it. Having logos on your character is not just immersion breaking, it feels like it's in an ethical grey area. It almost feels like they're insulting our intelligence lately. This feels like they're bluntly throwing marketing in our faces like a sledgehammer with the words "Buy" written on it. Then Luke Smith's confusing words in the Eurogamer interview, but he called himself an asshat so I guess that totally makes up for it. Back on the subject of in game advertising, there are more subtle ways to do it. Some games have actually done it really well, Battlefield bad company for example ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATNsEtJI65g fast forward to about 2:23) had billboards around the maps on multiplayer that featured real world adverts that would change between matches. The example in the video isn't great because it's just an advert for the game itself, but take my word for it there were ads for things like tv shows and what not. Some of you who played bad company might remember they had ads for Archer when that show was first starting. My point is there are better ways of advertising in a video game than just slapping logos on things with no explanation.

"Keep your Light safe, Guardian, and your Red Bull tabs safer." ... "Who need's the Crest of Alpha Lupi when you can get the Armament of Beta Red Bull?" ... "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain. If I could explain, the Vex don't like Red Bull." ... "The Speaker never has anything interesting to say? What do you expect? Dude's been slammin' the Bull." Lol I could do this ALL day. EDIT: Crota was only banished due to lack of Red Bull. Oryx is not after revenge, but simply Red Bull Perks. FACT: The Traveler runs on Red Bull. The Cryptographer will soon give out Motes of Bull for your Red Engrams. Battle Runner perk soon to be replaced with Bull Runner. Felwinter Lied. He did indeed slam the Bull with the Speaker from time to time. Osiris left to find the secret of why Vex hate Red Bull. Hating Red Bull is blasphemy to the City. Exiled at once for even the thought! Find the hidden Red Bulls in the Tower and Reef! ... Eris lied to the players. She killed her own fireteam over their Red Bull. She didn't let Crota have a sip. Ether is code name for Red Bull. Yes, there is Red Bull Seeds.

Just from my couch I see branding for my Samsung TV, Klipsch speakers, Onkyo receiver, X-Box one, Monster surge protector, Harmony remote, Motorola modem, my cup from Carmike Cinemas that I bought while seeing Jurassic World, Apple iPhone / iPad, Pop Vinyls for Rocket & Groot, Jon Snow, Thor and Sharknado. I bought all of those things with the labels on them, when people come in my house it's an indirect form of advertising. The point is, in real life as in video games, that's how stuff goes. If you don't want to see a logo all the time, then don't buy it. But like in the real world, you can't control what others buy and display.

Secondly, why care about something as insignificant as a little logo on the 3 players in Destiny that would actually wear a Red Bull logo on their gear. If more ended up wearing it, that means people enjoy it. It's a 'whatever' issue. If you didn't realize, you're playing a game. You're getting to deep into the universe of virtual reality. Snap back to reality- your family misses you.

games have had advertisements in them in the past, it's nothing new. Although, out of all the companies in the world, Red Bull survives most of the Earth's destruction, and all of the wars. To reach the tower, and not be killed by the fallen..they must really have gotten wings.
