Read below to find out why. I left it all as is.
-edit 3 is after the announcements.
**Loving the comments guys. Lots of opinions from both sides. Keep them coming and let's get this trending!**
All this talk about how Bungie this and Bungie that.
Everyone does know that it's a publisher that controls what content is released when it's released and how much said content will cost, right?
You all do know that the PS exclusive deal is between Sony and Activision, right?
You all do know that Bungie can't bad mouth Activision since they are under contract and don't own the publishing rights to Destiny they would be giving up their work, right?
Hundreds of thousands of players complaining and they aren't even complaining in the right direction...
Developers ONLY MAKE the game.
Publishers SELL the game and CONTROL HOW MUCH IT COSTS AND WHAT CONTENT IS RELEASED AT X TIME.
Please do research or at least actually know what you're talking about when you do dumb shit like get the community all worked up over a freaking Game of the year edition that much like games in the past, has some new bonus that is suppose to entice players to either buy again or join the party.
I am in no way justifying the price of TTK or anything people have issues with on behalf of Bungie. What I am is, tired of reading all the retarded posts and comments about the same thing when Bungie has no say in a lot of the issues people are posting about.
Edit 1: to anyone who keeps talking about, it's Bungies fault for signing the deal... How clueless to life can you be to not realize and see that no one in their right mind would turn down the money they got. Are you trying to tell me that financial security and stability aren't the ultimate goals of working for another person/company? Get your head out of your ass and open your eyes to how business actually works on the higher end. It's not a fun game and it usually sucks for a lot of parties.
Edit 2: several players have voiced about a boycott on Bungie day. Here's some numbers for those thinking that this boycott would do anything. You've already paid for what available, the only loser in that idea are the players not playing that day. 20,000 people not playing makes up about 2-3% of the 5-6million player base. No one will notice you didn't sign on. And more so, no one will care. Again they already got your money. They don't care if you play. A boycott is suppose to hurt the X you are boycotting. Since Bungi doesn't make any money by you
signing in, this plan was clearly thought of by some angry internet kid and a ton of, whatever you want to be called, actually joined in. Smh. You already lost your point.
Edit 3: I take it all back. It went from crazy but ok to, how could you possibly make things worse?????
You tried to reply to a shit storm about being a money grabber, with a pricey money grab???? And let's not forget the red bull promotion... I'm so confused.
And yet still you can't patch the game and fix several glaring glitchy spots or buff ARs to playability???
Anyone who owns physical copy and doesn't value the sweet collectible stuff like the replica strange coin, you are getting beyond screwed. If you do value the stuff like the steelcase or coin, then it's an obvious value. Everyone except people who have never played are getting screwed no matter where you stand on this.

Activision owns the publishing rights, yes. Bungie however owns the IP, which gives them 100% control over the title and It's content and the manner of its distribution. All Activision controls, as it relates to Destiny, is the distribution and marketing. The only people you can reasonably point the finger at for the staggering amount of misfires and ineptitude...is Bungie. Yes Activision sucks, but they aren't to blame for Destiny as it is because they don't control the IP.

2 답변Didnt read more than the topic... Doesnt matter who you blame. They are tied together as bungievision and bungie employes spell themselves like they support activision. If they wouldnt they could just surround themselves with silence... but no they say we dont value upcoming content enough and are dumb enough to throw money at the screen and dont need more vault space since they we use only 5 guns and they dont even want us to use favourite guns over long periods

6 답변What if I paid you 1000$ to publicly wear a pair of pink panties for 2 days? Depends on morals I suppose. I don't like either of the companies. Bungle is not helpless.

1 답변It's not one or the other, it's both of the companies but you're right we do bash bungie too much

Oh, we all hate the right company. Bungie (most of it anyways), stayed with 343i. The current Bungie is a bunch of sellouts. If this was the Bungie we all knew and loved they probably would have done something to keep Activisin from -blam!-ing with them for as much miney as possible

Look I have been a big fan of Bungie from the days of Halo CE but they chose to sign with Activision no one forced them into that. I don't doubt that its Activision behind a lot of the non sense that has plagued this game from the beginning. But there are plenty of other developers out there, and even better there is this thing called crowd funding so you can even do it yourself. The amount of money thrown at them in no way justifies their poor taste in business partnership nor does it remove them from taking responsibility for said business partners awful handling of this game.

Activision probably is calling the shots. Thats why the story writers left. In my opinion bungie should have made the game independently. That way it could have been their game and they could call the shots. They had to have some money left over from the halo series. They sold out to activision, and now it shows in the form of people realizing what this game is, and what it is going to become. I'm tempted to wait until destiny 5 just so I can get a real game with enough content to keep me busy. Otherwise I'm stuck on a 2 day binge while I complete all the end game content again for the hundreth time, and then switch over to other games because Trials only happens on the weekend, which I usually play with my team for 5 hours before the reset. Destiny has such potential for greatness, i'm just sad to see that it only shines through with the grimoire on bungie.net.

Put simply 1) packages and pricing are the publisher Activision 2) game features and performance are the dev. You are of course correct .
