So Luke Smith (Lead designer) basically said that Bungie know's it's screwing over the fans/current players and that they're perfectly fine with doing so. (Original article: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-06-22-destiny-the-taken-king-director-defends-40-expansion-price-tag
Does that change your mind about buying TTK? Comment below.
38% of players are pre-ordering digital content (admittedly, I don't know why you'd pre-order unlimited digital content)
31% of players are waiting for reviews so they don't get screwed over again.
31% of players are done with Destiny.
I felt compelled to point out that games like Skyrim give you easily ten times the content for a $30 expansion, $10 less than the base TTK price.
DeeJ: Simple question for you; come September 15th 2015 are you reducing Destiny's DLC on XBL/PSN to the $5-$10 range and the base Destiny game down to $10? If not you are forcing some day one players to buy TDB and/or HoW for $20-$35/$40 and then charging them $40 additionally for TTK. This is my major issue. It's price gouging. I'd appreciate it if you or someone at Bungie would settle this issue.
Either set TTK to $20 or reduce the price of the pre-existing DLC.
Additional info in! Someone has unearthed E3 video footage from 2013 when Destiny was first revealed. (https://youtu.be/uHhR3kkf1uQ) Watch it yet? If not you really should since it shows the 3 "new" emotes (clap was confirmed in Luke Smith interview). E3 2013 people! This was even more content ripped out of vanilla Destiny to be sold off as DLC but this time it's behind a $40 premium edition paywall.
Disclaimer: Any money thrown at the screen will be donated to starving children in a third world nation.
Additional info per weekly update: Bungie is selling the digital goods from the collector's edition for $20 USD. That's the same price increase for the disc version of vanilla to Collector's Edition but doesn't come with the physical items (worth much more than some token emotes, shaders, and class items) that new players get for the same price increase. Thoughts?

I will try not to buy TTK, It'll probably be a good DLC, however it just doesn't feel right to support Bungie and Activi$ion anymore. I might come on to play crucible once in a while but my raiding days are almost over. Now that good games like Bloodborne, The Witcher and soon to be Uncharted 1, 2, 3, and 4, I think Destiny's days of competing with shitty games are coming to an end.

1 답변I won't be buying TTK at £40, that's is bloody ridiculous I've spent £40 on destiny then £35 on the dlc and they still want more, in total that would be £115 for one game, -blam!- you bungie I've had enough I would rather spend my cash on a new game than on a bit of dlc.

2 답변Bungie will collapse in on itself along with the banks, governments, social institutions and industrial complexes of the world. Just waiting for the run on wall st.

I'm honestly not sure how much of Luke's attitude to take seriously in that interview. It reads like he's trying to mess with the interviewer. I dunno why he'd do it but it does seem to me like he's purposefully acting like a jerk. I just can't take "you'd literally throw money at the screen" seriously. Whatever it is though he has defintely damaged Bungie's image and that wasn't the smartest thing to have done. I bought the CE version of Destiny with the ghost 'figure' and will buy the taken king. Whether the extra items tempt me to buy the CE version is something I'll need to think more about than I expected given the cost.

1 답변I didn't have a problem with anything he said at all. It was so boring reading the questions. The interviewer didn't ask anything that i felt like i needed or wanted to know. He was the worst part. Luke Smith is just a guy breaking it down for all the babies who think life isn't fair. TTK isn't even close to being here yet. I'm sure they will will satisfy the main core base of day 1s by the time it comes.

Everyone is getting way to upset and butthurt about this whole thing. If you want the content, go to GameStop and preorder it. It costs 5 (maybe 10 for the collectors) to preorder. The game doesn't come out until 9/15/15. If Bungie announces that you can get all that other crap that the collector's edition gives, without rebuying your game and DLCs, then go back to GameStop, cancel your shit, and preorder the right thing. Then you only spend money on what you want to spend it on. I don't understand what the big deal with logical thinking is.

And no other game in gaming history has come close to the cost it has to make DESTINY. An interview is the same as an opinion and I'm sorry but I'm not going to read reviews of a movie critique to tell me if s movie is going to be good or not because guess what...they are not me neither do they have the same tastes that do. Bottom line, do what you want, I'll be playing Destiny.

2 답변I preordered it after the E3 reveal. There is no option for I have already pre-ordered it.

I've gotten my money's worth out of Destiny and then some so far, so I'll be getting TTK on launch. If a collector's edition is announced that just has The Taken King along with the collectibles, I'll probably get that. I love this game and have had no qualms about investing into it. One person's admittedly questionable responses in an interview isn't going to change that.
