OR... Screw all of the items that will become obsolete in a matter of days (with the exception of emotes) and offer an exclusive exotic weapon that is on par with the upper echelon of exotics. That would truly show appreciation for the veterans because that is probably what they would want the most (think about the effect Gjallarhorn has had.)
