Update: Had a long post here about how I didn't like the fight, played with my clan and cleared it in 13 minutes. Go figure....
Still think the burns were fun.
Cheers!

The previous way took no Skill. Basically just,"Alright team, just shoot your rockets until he dies! Herp Derp!" Now it takes skill. To prove to you that you need a better strategy, here is a video of a fireteam killing Skolas with MELEES ONLY. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fIBPF3w6Q5E

7 답변Stop trying to rush through it! Theres a time to shoot skolas and a time to kill his cronies! The skolas fight is way too easy now. Im just glad im not sitting in the airlock waiting for heavy cooldowns anymore.

XD there are so many people who have said the same thing and that's mostly cause they are terrible with teamwork I have done it in 17 minutes and I would say it was more enjoyable and yes it only took 1 run its all about communication and knowing how good you really are if your team doesn't have that in all there players then there will always be the one moron who runs out thinking he can kill Skolas when he has low health and screwing the team if you don't have that person then this will be easier then a strike

1 답변작성자: Der Sheff 6/18/2015 7:38:07 PMI feel like the fight took the exact opposite turn. It used to be: hurry up and kill in 30 seconds or die to a random shrapnel launcher or scorch cannon shot in the next two minutes. That was solar. Arc... I can't even. Void was easily manageable. Due to burn damage, I feel the fight took a concentrated skill that couldn't be maintained, kinda like a comet, burning up in our atmosphere, never touching ground. In the long term, there was ultimately no skill for Solar or Arc, Void was 50/50. Now, you actually have to deal with Tainted Light, Mines and being spammed by enemies. The fight takes about a half hour to 45 minutes and actually requires long term coordination an teamwork. With the enemies spawning at health increments, it feel a lot less stressful and wholly manageable. The net result is a better experience. In fact, it makes the rest of the Prison of Elders seem like a total cake-walk. Just spam that huge knight with bullets? Aight. Done. The 32 and 34 for this week and last have been a complete breeze. That's my two-cents.

2 답변No. Skolas was not meant to be killed in 30 seconds. He isn't hard! This is the way bungie intended the level to be played. Work on your strategy. I enjoy the battle much more now. You must work together to win not run out and blast him to death in seconds. No skill there. A very small percentage of players make it through raids and POE from what I hear. Instead of rushing through to 20 and buying your way to 34 and heading straight for end content try playing VOG and crota for a while to gain the skills needed to successfully work as a team on a 35.
The real intent of the removal of burns was not to make it easier. It was to prevent quick kills and force people to play out the mechanics which is actually fine, but the mechanics suck and depend way too much on luck.
Absolutely true. Moving the Adds to health levels was smart but Bungie really should have spread them out more instead of lying and having any damage movement cause a new spawn cycle. Or they could have broken up the large spawn into smaller groups and release a different group at the current health trigger. Bungie really needs to put more thought and testing into patches before deploying changes.

Took two first timers this morning through 35 PoE, both were Titans, I was a warlock. In total took about 90 minutes. The burns were nice but I prefer it the way it now, takes more teamwork and the kill is more satisfying. Hope you can fine tune your strats!

8 답변A fireteam beat him using only punches. Therefore, I don't think the fight is that unbearable at the moment.

What I would have liked with the whole of prison of elders is a per stage spawn set. Not this constant flow of heavy duty sponges that exists. It isn't that you can just wipe out all the enemies and then take care of mines, but if you have a team working on various goals, it makes things manageable and not a tedious mess.

2 답변Gamers are getting so soft all I see on these forums is people like you that want everything handed to them. Just because you are struggling or saying that it is nothing but luck is total bs. It means you are not as good at the game as you like to think and therefore want it easier so you can say you beat skolas. It is a 10 - 20 min fight that takes communication and above all always sticking together. I have done it three times already and twice was on the first try with randoms. Stop complaining and work out a good strategy with your team. If you have a weak link in your team and you are the host... Kick them. This is not an activity that you can easily carry someone. If they aren't pulling there weight then drop them and stop wasting time. But who knows maybe you are that weak link that I would have dropped. If that's the case don't do skolas and stick to something easier like a normal vog or crota.

Beat the fight last night and it took about 30 minutes. It was fun and challenging. Way better than just burning him with ghorns. The devs want you to fight him using the mechanics they have designed, which is fine by me.
